Veterans day rememberance

A friend is visiting from another county this week. They do not have a veterans day in his country. He asked me what the holiday was. I said Veterans Day, and explained the holiday. He said....How come there is nothing on the radio....or television...about this holiday? I said there is usually a little blurb about this day on TV. He said Americans make a bigger deal out of Halloween. Just sharing a perspective from a visitor in America. P.S. I am not a veteran

I called the box office on Monday to buy a sporting event game. I asked if they would be open on the holiday. The man said there was no holiday this week. I said it was Veteran's Day on Wednesday. He had no clue (and it was a grown man I was talking to). Kinda sad.

Sad indeed "Everett". Here's a quick history on Veteran's Day which was formerly Armistice Day recognizing the end of "The War to End All Wars". Most countries that fought in WWI have a similar day but might call it something different like "Remembrance Day"
