"The Hudson Valley has become a go-to destination for New Yorkers seeking second homes, and Saugerties increasingly has been influenced by big-city sensibilities and artsy culture."
Wow! Not to degrading. Is this to say if you are not from a big city you only have small town redneck sensibilities? Are the writers aware that many if not most of the residents of the HV are from some place else, but unlike the many times arrogant and snooty weekenders we came here to stay and live our lives.
Also, it would be nice if all these part-timers would acknowledge and respect the fact that THIS IS OUR HOME, NOT simply YOUR weekend get-away.
