I am bringing the wife to get her first taste of Western Kansas this weekend. May be moving soon. Where should we eat, things to do?

If you want to spend $30 - $50 and have a good steak go to The Landmark. For typical mexican food I prefer Alejandros'. They also have a decent American menu.

el idolo puts too many cilantro leaves in the sauce, el ranchito has no flavor, and garcias chips are cold and stale.

I like Alejandros But they are a little pricy. Have not had Chito in a long time cause the food is gressy. Don't like Garcias cause the food taste like its been there for a week. I do like Down town and El Idolo. We eat Chinese once in a while. It is ok. I would not say it is great just ok

I also like to eat at El Ranchito whenever I can get a few days off and get over there. One thing though, the serving size seem small for an adult man so you may want to get two items like the special of the day with a bowl of chili.

Laughing, it's the same way for me. When I go to Ulysses, I always ask my parents to take me to El Ranchito's. The chili there is just awesome!

Last time I ate there, there weren't prices listed for the steaks, etc. I ain't paying those prices for a steak that they paid half price for. The bestest place to eat IS AT HOME. You don't worry about them spitting on your food in the kitchen or dropping your food on the floor and on and on and I's a good cook, yalll.

There is a new restaurant opening in July. It will be next to the Iron Horse bar (located where the warehouse was) which is supposed to open next week. The restaurant is going to be opened by a chef with several years experience after graduating from a culinary school, and he is from here.

Chinese restaurant is better if you order take-out and not something easily available on the buffet. El Idolo and the Downtown Restaurant both rock. Ranchito is like what I could cook at home. So is Alejandro's. Most of the fare in those two is boring.
