Ben Hauck is a good guy and I am sure he is a good coach. Too bad to read that he resigned from his coaching position. I hope he does not giove up coaching. Eastern Brown Local School District will allow drug addict teachers who steal perscription pads to teach there full time. I figure that to be a bigger issue than a public indecency charge. I'm just saying. Although I advocate those type of things to be done in privacy, I do not feel that he has hurt anyone and I hope that the backwards ass community there does not ridicule him. Masterbation is a natural act of human nature and although I agree it should be done in private, he was not hurting anyone. Ben, I hope you keep your head up and dont let this get you down.

"Keep your head up"! I think that is what caused this whole incident, right?
I just think it is funny to see how those that have harassed, teased and ridiculed others, like Ben has done to many, prove themselves in the long run. He has always been an arrogant punk as far as I am concerned. But who could blame him, look at his family, thinking they are better than the next.
Karma will come back and get you every time!
However, I think his mug will be so cute on sexual predator list!
Maybe you should "hang your head low" in shame!

1st off, Alumni dont you think getting on here and putting this guys name was just a little on the RUDE side?
2nd off, the teahcer you are referring to as the so called drug addict is one of the BEST teachers Eastern has.
All schools have a skeleton or 2 in their closets, Eastern Local by far is not the first nor the last.
I think that a little sensativity might be in order, yes it might be public knowledge, but as adults there should be a point when we realize yes it is a fact, but should remain unspoken. I think my parents called it manners. Just sayin......

He may be a great guy, BUT,he obviously has a big problem thats likely to escalate,to worse things, not speaking about them and shoving it under a rug does not make it go away, alot of young kids do not realize the full impact of their actions, in this case it affected so many, family, friends, and a entire community, it will be talked about it,that is a fact, but maybe someone will learn something from it, like what not to do on company time, or stealing internet service because you can. Hopefull his family and friends will get him help, instead of ignoring a problem.

First of all if you take a postion of authority, especially in a school system then you obviously need to make sure you are walking the line and not putting yourself in situations that will in anyway jeopardize your character or your position. Ben made a bad choice for reasons he only knows but this has nothing to do with his ability to coach a team. Yes, he needs to lose his coaching position, simple fact, he did something wrong and needs to be punished. Something of this nature definitly calls for a resignation. Your a role model for these kids for goodness sakes!
Ive seen Ben coach these kids, seen how the practices are run. Should Ben be the only one held accountable for the "coaching style" that is used as well by his father and Mark Day?????? What about them? Ive seen the yelling, the cussing the name calling. Have you coached a team before? Do you know the lack of respect that some of those boys have? The lack of committment for practices? The way these boys talk back to them and disprespect the coaches? Im sorry if some of them quit the team because of a coach. Why is that? The game of basketball at this level is very competetive, its about being the best and winning games or losing with dignity because you know you played hard like the coach expects. Why let a coach take away YOUR right to play? Why let a coach take that from you? Why let your child quit because, they arent happy! If the coach is yelling at your child because they arent doign something right or they say they arent good enough or cant do it..... wouldnt a good life lesson be somethign to teach here??????? Work harder! Shut them up with your game! Dont let someone dictate YOUR life or run you out. Is that how they will treat life when they get older? "I dont like how my boss is treating me.. I quit" or " That professor told me I was stupid..Im gonna quit college".... SAME THING! My daughter plays for the JH girls basketball team and Coach Seigla and Coach Forsythe are very passionate about their coaching.... in yoru face coaching actually. His practices are intense, almost like a boot camp! But he is the best around and he and Deb are feeding the high school program DISCIPLINED HARD WORKING NEVER QUIT players! What about Beucler? He's a teddy bear compared to back in the day!
There's no sense in bashing Ben over this. He was a good coach, those that complain just didnt like his style of coaching. Dont like it, why arent you coaching? Coaches sacrifice a lot and most of the time they never get the praises they deserve. Sorry that Ben made this mistake but resigning was the right thing to do because of his actions NOT because he was perceived as a "bad coach".

OMG!!! OMG!!! I don't know why I am so surprised! Don't know whether to laugh or cry! LAUGH. Come on it's funny, He must have really been into it for a cop to pull up right behind him with lights on and catch him red handed doing the monster mash! It was just a matter of time before getting caught, loads of people knew he had a problem, don't know to many that didn't know actually, family knew it too, chose to look the other way. Now they gotta face it head on, we all have dirt and mud on the back porch, those that talk about it clean it off those that don't keep climbing over it to get in the door. I feel bad for the family, it will be tough on most of them, some will grin and bear it, and some of course will choose to make excuses,(instead of simply putting it out there that he a xxxx addiction), like I said he's been doing it for years, every chance he gets and anywhere he can.( Hold your head up high and smile call it like you see it and move on) There are worse things happen to good people this aint real bad but embarressing for all those involved , and funny as heck.

It is funny to me that some of you, "AMEN" in particular, think that you have room to talk when it comes to Ben's family. There are many things in your closet that could be viewed by others as taboo and bad. Seeing that you feel that Ben's actions have "knocked his family down a notch" shows that you know nothing about his family. Ben's family is a very tight knit family that supports each other no matter what, even in embarassing situations such as this. I am sure that they are disappointed in his actions but will support him anyway because that is what a loving, supportive family does. Your view on his family seems like jealousy of a family that loves and supports each other, and works hard for what they have accomplished. To say that they think they are better than everyone is just dumb. They know that their family isn't perfect because there isn't one that is. All families have problems and they know that they are no exception to that. I would love to write a bunch of things that I know about you "AMEN" but that would make me as nasty as you. "MY NAME", you sound like someone that Ben may have ridiculed in high school and that still can't let it go. I know first hand that Ben has shown a bad side at times, as most of us have. Again, jealousy of a good family seems to prevail in your comment about his family as it did with "AMEN". Before saying he will end up on the sexual predator list for the charge he was given, you might want to look into those things before saying them because you would find that that is very unlikely to happen. You sound like an idiot by saying something so unlikely. Just saying guys, check your closets for skeletons before you start running your chops.

I can say that no Ben never ridiculed me in high school, as I did not go to school with him. I have been witness to his and his family's ridicule of others. And close knit or not, there actions speak for themselves and the last time I checked they put there pants on everyday like the rest of us. The only difference is that most of us keep our pants on in public. And as far as the sexual predator list, maybe YOU should look at this list and compare some of the other charges some have been convicted of and how they compare with these of Mr. Hauck. I think the possibility is very "likely"!

I think the question at hand is not the coaching but public indecency (AKA "jacking off in his Pepsi car in a parking lot" as quoted from my junior high student).

I feel for Ben and his family. You know when we were all young we all did something stupid! The poor guys never been in trouble before. Then you all want to throw his dirty laundry out there for everyone to read. From what Ive seen from him and his dad as coaches Ben will keep his head up and show all you one little screw up want keep him down. He will be back as a coach and a teacher!!

I agree with alumni, especially on the issue of the teacher that Eastern has kept around for years, in spite of his inability to effectively teach kids, HIS sexual perversions, and his addiction to perscription drugs. If teachers and coaches are really expected to walk this fine ethical line, this TEACHER has crossed it MANY times...

Sounds like the apple didnt fall very far from the tree! Your obvious ignorant dialect speaks volumes. We read the news and know what the charges were, but it brings great humor to you obviously to refer to this as funny and comical. This forum isnt just about his charges, if you would stop your adolescent responses and read, there are people who care more about the effect of this rather than what he did.
You arent funny and your posts are obviously fueled by a lacking in your life in some area. Maybe you need to deal with that more and stop taking cheap shots!
