Anyone notice the similarity between this and some other schemes involving (for example) small churches? The folks involved tend to have similar backgrounds, experiences, and beliefs.

Got that? Good. Now compare it to higher education, in which the peddlers insist that the clientele invest more and more (that is, get more education) even though the payoff is less and less, and the debt load is higher and higher. Why, the dealers have our same interests, don't they? Surely we must trust them!
