Lawsuits have mounted against the makers of Da Vinci due to adverse incidents that include over-anesthetization, excessive bleeding, internal lacerations, internal burns to organs and blood vessels and even death. The site is where I first found out about this controversy on robotic surgery.

The FDA has seen the failure of Intuitive Surgical, manufacturer of the controversial da Vinci surgical system, to notify the public of the potential dangers caused by their product. Patient are drawn to robotic surgery because of its heavy advertising and marketing. Because of this, patients who underwent robotic surgery experienced serious and life-threatening complications. There are articles that I bumped into at that may be of great help to you.

Like Fred E. Taylor in the referred article, I also had a robotic prostatectomy. Unlike him, I carried out some research into the surgeon, found he was well known and experienced with the device. Consequently there were no problems, and the results were far better than they would have been under the manual slash and burn technique.

It seems lawyers are suing the more wealthy manufacturer for mistakes made by under trained or incompetent surgeons .

Rather like suing Cessna for the incompetence of pilots who overload the aircraft.
