Hi there,

Does anyone remember this place? I'm looking to talk to anyone who was a regular at Andy Capp's Tavern (157 W El Camino Real) in the early 1970s. Did you drink there? Or did your parents regularly frequent it? Looking to hear stories about the bar from those around at the time.

I must disagree with Beth Schumann the manager of Rooster T Feather.Referring to Andy Capp's Tavern
"Just a dive bar,nothing special"
I worked at Andy Capp's for 5 years. It was a beer and wine bar, with free peanuts and sawdust on the floor. When it first open it was a place for people to gather play checkers, chess, darts, with tape music playing in the back ground. There never was a Purple-Glowing jukebox playing 45s.Over the years it turned in to a very popular place with live band playing 6 nites a week. The front room had the bar tables the back room had 2 pool table several pinballs.
When Bill Gaddis the owner meet Nolan the bar was doing a very well.In my opinion the bar help lanched Pong not the other way.
Just my 2 cents!!!!

Hi Chris,

I went to Andy Capp's Tavern a few times when I lived in Sunnyvale and worked at Atari in Los Gatos. I loved the big bowls of fresh roasted peanuts on every table and tossing the shells on the floor. I didn't go because of the Pong Arcade, as I built Cocktail Pong and Gran Trac and was allowed to play them at work for free. A few of my co-workers and I went to play darts, eat peanuts and drink beer...just a cool hang-out, nothing special, really, very casual and comfortable.
