This company is a perfect example of de-regulations and "privatization" They have their people riding around in NEW Ford 150 XLT pick up trucks! I have seen them using the trucks for meter reading, and to leave notice's on people's doors. These trucks are unnecessary and gas hogs-did they come from Vern Buchanan' dealership Sarasota Ford??? When someone has a problem -NO one knows nothing-their local management is worthless. This company is NOT on a restricted budget and now wants to raise our rates! I want to know who on the Sarasota County board made a good ole' boy deal with a private company that is NOT a member of the BBB here or where, and it "based in North Carolina to be responsible for OUR water Utility ???? This is outrageous and unacceptable!

I received my Pluris bill late in the mail just 3 days and mailed a check immediately. Same day I received a late notice. Tried to contact them by phone to tell them I was deleting the amount of the check they would recieve momentarily but sending the balance and not protesting the late charge, even though it was the fault of the post office. Could not reach them by phone.

I think it's time the residents, of South-gate, in a group, took a signed petition to the Better Business Bureau and the Commissioners office. I think there are enough of us with valid complaints against PLURIS to have them listen. I would also like to know who was instrumental in allowing this company to service us and what credentials were presented to obtain the contract in Sarasota. Contact any of your friends who have also had problems and were just too busy or overwhelmd to complain.
Anyone with me on this contact me at gbizzaro3@gmail .com. Document your experiences, or just download these emails. It aught to be enough evidence to have some kind of action taken.
I, for one am going through my second drama with this company.

I completely agree with this statement. This is now 2013 and they
still think that the excuse:(we are not set up to take payment via
the phone and with debit/credit card.) But we can set up and account
over the internet. DO YOU THINK that I am going to share my banking
information and my credit card when they cannot even put forth the
effort to establish a pay by phone. I can go to the corner store
and by milk with my debit/credit card. DO YOU THINK that I could trust a organization that refuses to understand that the customer
comes first. Now they have requested a rate hike!
Is there any way that I can select another water supplier?

We are a private school only open Monday-Friday, usually only 21 days a month, often less for holidays and teacher workdays. We have a stable number of students, no yard to water, no pool to fill, only toilets and sinks for hand washing. We buy bottled water for drinking. Our bill varies a little month-to-month but I have collected enough data now to see that every 6 months they "read" our meter and it almost doubles in gallons! Same number of days, same number of students and teachers. I called to have the meter re-read and they said they did but I can't believe that we can double the number of gallons used when we don't have a lot of use to begin with. We have had a toilet leak here and there so that explains when it does increase once a year. What a bunch of crooks they are; the meter readers are 1) blind, 2) stupid, or 3) crooks.
I have never seen a water bill fluctuate so much before and no one seems to care.

I agree. I am a single senior living alone in a small house. I live on a small fixed income and very tight budget. My average bill from Pluris is from $80.00 to about $95.00 per month and has been as high as $120.00. I do not water my yard. Have no pool. Do not have any leaks (according to the pluris man, who checked my meter) and am careful not to wash clothes too often. I sometimes even go a day or two without showering if I can. I have checked my meter myself multiple times and had the Pluris people come recently. According to the service man, I just use too much water or have a toilet that runs when I don't know it. I am home all the time and am not deaf so that is just not the case.
When Pluris took over the job from sarasota county, my bill jumped by about 35% rite away and has been out of control ever since. The people in North Carolina are not respectful when questions are asked and that in itself is a very sad situation.
I hope that someday, there will be another source. I have been thinking about having a secondary meter put on my line between the pluris meter and my house. I wish more luck to other customers in Southgate than I have had. I am not in good health and have decided that the struggle is not worth the stress. Good luck to others in a similar situation.
