Well... maybe he was trying to undo the mistake he did 36 years ago!

Sometimes children need subtle reminders to let them know who's in charge!

Thirty-six years old and still living with his parent(s).

That's a huge red flag right there!

My father used to joke (maybe he wasn't joking), "Don't ever forget who's the boss in this house. I brought you into this world, I'll take you out!"

How ignorant is that statement. No matter what he didn't deserve to be shot. Nice father...

Maybe, maybe not. Some 67 year-olds need live-in assistance. My mother never even made it to the age of 67.

I took care of my father until he was almost 80, and I got comments about "still living with my father." What they didn't understand was how much work goes into taking care of an ailing, elderly parent. People saw him when he was well enough to go out, but they didn't see me laying towels around him when he refused to blow his nose and would get mad at me when I tried to wipe his nose for him or at least catch the snot with a towel before it hit the carpet.

Yes, there are people who won't grow up and rely on their parents for far too long, but don't assume that this is always the case.

My father used to say that too, but he didn't look like he was joking. And he did almost shoot me once for not following his commands fast enough. Strange how those of us raised by short-tempered parents are still more likely to rearrange our lives to keep a parent out of a nursing home if they don't want to go than to pack them up or make them fend for themselves.

Anyway, there is not nearly enough information here for us to make any kind of a judgment. We can hold general opinions like 36 year olds should live with their own family or parents should not shoot their children, but we can't actually judge on this little information.

People keep asking why kids are so violent these days. Maybe they learn it from the adults?

This is an example of why gun owners scare me.

Dont place yourself on the wrong end of the gun then you won't need to be scared! If it a criminal that has you on the wrong end then have a bigger gun and be faster! LOL

Yup, thats what I was told by mine too. I know he WASN'T joking. But hey who has a better right???? I think the MOM has the better right. But either way, I've told my daughter that too, I gave you life, I can take it back. I am joking, I would never, but that doesn't mean that I don't entertain the idea when she's screwing up, but again its not a heinous screw up, only petty little things that "good kids" do. Like skip school & go shopping. Not bump off a mom & pops store, or anything stupid. I was strict with my raising just as my parents were.... and I am raising "good" kids.
