What kind of father wouldn't? Regardless of the tragedy surrounding the situation, he can't just abandon his child! I would think as a "mother of 3" you'd grasp that concept.

You've got to be kidding me. Who do you love here? the wife or the kid? I would love my child but let me tell ya what a criminal told me once. In a crime of passion, someone who shoots some one really is not thinking and just taking the easy way out . But someone who takes a knife, screws it in,stabs repeatedly has to really be thinking about what they are doing. That is a truly evil person, I don't care how old they are. This kid will get his in prison. I bet he won't last a month. Mother killers aren't' tolerated really well there.

I do have children but let me tell you one thing right now anyone ANYONE who stabs a loved one over and over and over again is one sick person child or not. He deserves prison. He deserves to look at a picture of his mother each and every day and think about what he did. The father is crazy to be supporting the idea of helping this troubled young man. Prison is help enough he ended a womans life and changed the lives of others forever. That is wrong and against the law.

I'm so sorry for everyone's loss.
But the key word you used is TROUBLED, or you might say sick.
So if your kid is sick or trouble are you saying you would not help him or her?
Lets give the dad a lot of support, I'm thinking he had to think long and hard as to do what is right, if he be leave this is the right thing for him to do, I'm all for it.

Just my thought.

You have no right to judge the father for supporting the son. Actually, it is really none of your business. You have no idea what you would do in this situation until it happened to you. You can speculate all that you want.

Personally, I think there were more issues here than being presented to the media. Everybody's kid is a "good" kid until they screw up. Drugs, violence, bullying, sexual predators, etc.. face the kids today much the same it did for us old-timers. Or the boy could have some underlying issue yet to be determined. We just don't have enough information to make any assumptions here.
Let's all just wish the family well as they can be, reserve our judgements or keep them to ourselves, and hope things work out as best it can.

I agree with you "agrred" but you know they are too stupid to do that. Someone will say something nasty about one of the family, then I will focus my attention on who ever says it. Then I will be considered the troll. Oh well, so be it.

No one knows what they would do in a situation unless they have been through it themselves. The father has an obligation to his son and also has to have justice for his wife and family. Don't throw stones when it comes to matters of the heart. No one knows unless they have lived it.

hiring an attorney isnt always about getting the criminal off but rather about receiving the fairest treatment in the legal system.....try to grasp that. Of course, everyone already knows he will receive severe punishment for this but there are still a lot of factors to be worked out. Isnt it funny that you cannot legally drink until you are 21, cannot go into the military until 18, cannot vote until 18, cannot drive after nine until 18...why? because children are not responsible enough. But if you commit a terrible crime at 14, you are now an adult!

We can point fingers and make judgements but only a few people were in the home that evening and unless you were one of them you can not even begin to speculate what happened. How it started, what happened next, but we know one fact, that a very loving person has been murdered in a very upsetting way. May her entire family and large group of friends find a way to cope with this tragedy. May each of us learn from this, it only takes a moment to change a life FOREVER. May prayer and HOPE find a way to heal everyone. Please find another subject to dwell on, let the family heal.

Ok to all of you who are judging Ron and the family, shut up. The family can read this and see all of your insensitivity. They are all going to need support and help through this not cruel remarks. To those of you who think you know what you would do, I doubt you've ever had a tragedy anything like this (I hope you haven't) trailertrash you are right with what you are saying, in this country everyone deserves the ability to have a fair trial. And I'm sorry but to those of you who wrote what you think you have as details shut the f up. You have no clue, you think you do but keep it to yourself, not put it on here your words are hurtful to say the least. Think of the father, sister, and all the family. Would you want to sit down to your computer and read crap like that written about a member of your family. Oh yeah, you probably would after reading your remarks. My prayers are for the whole family and the young boy is part of that family no matter what!

No question in my mind, you stick by your child 100% of the time!!! This child doesn't need prison he needs therapy, and may have needed it all along. This may have never happened if he had what he in my opinion must have been in need of. Also let me say, he doesn't need to be talked badly to or about what he needs most now is support! If the people around him that love him support him in this his time of need, it will speak volumes. I just wish people wouldn't be so quick to throw human beings away! Who is the real animal here? People cry out for help, ask for it, and sometimes seek it out on their own. This boy needed to know where to turn and didn't. I understand his mom worked in the field, however you can't always tell ppl you know everything, you need an outsider to listen and not judge, but to guide you.

You people have no idea what this family is going through. My child is personaly good friends with karens daughter. The family forgives Dilan for what he did. Theres no reason to be calling him names. All this family needs is support.Karen brought rachells challenge to this community so how about you start following it.

I agree..It is not up to us to judge. It is no ones business if the family stands by him or not. Would you want people in your life telling you how to feel
I pray for the family.
