No team from a BCS conference can claim more victories from 1999 to 2012 than the 149 wins registered by OU under Stoops' direction.

Among schools from BCS conferences, only Alabama (61) and Oregon (56) have compiled more victories over the last five season than Oklahoma (52).

I'll put Oklahoma's non-conference schedule under Stoops against any school. You describe it as "cupcake." The facts don't back up your argument.

With all of this being said, I'm not pleased with the direction of the program. Our recruiting has to improve. I'm really not excited about the next few years, 8-10 wins per season.

I won't argue with anything you have stated, however, regular season wins don't cut it, unless you love stats and need something to brag about. Why do teams play? For championships, not for regular season wins. Oops is 7-7 in bowl games and 1-3 in national title games. OU consistently is overrated and overhyped.

NCAA football bowl records, win-loss records current as of the 2011-2012 bowl season.

Alabama 35-22-3
Arkansas 13-23-3
Clemson 16-18
Florida 20-20
Florida State 24-14-2
Georgia 27-18-3
LSU 22-20-1
Miami (Fla.) 18-16
Michigan 20-21
Nebraska 24-25
Notre Dame 15-16
Ohio State 19-23
Oklahoma 27-17-1
Oregon 11-15
Penn State 21-15-2
SC 31-17
Tennessee 25-24
Texas 27-22-2
Texas A&M 14-19
UCLA 14-16-1

Bob Stoops is the only head coach to reach all 4 BCS games and the BCS National Championship Game, WINNING the BCS Rose, Orange and Fiesta Bowls.

Like it or not, OU is a top four college football program of all-time. The ONLY debate is where OU ranks on the list...

I appreciate that you are a UO honk and apologist, I really do, but I don't care about mobilehoma, where they allegedly should be ranked or bob oops. They have a fantastic record and program, but they choke more often than not. Ooops has one title that he won over a decade ago with another coaches players. Additionally he has lost 3 other national title games and has losses to West Virginia, Boise State, Texas A&M, Ole Miss. He is not the football guru that you goner fans think he is. I am not a UT shorthorn fan, but Mack Brown has a better bowl record, has beaten USC, and has won a National Title more recently than UO and Ooops. Despite getting trampled the last few years, UT still owns UO in the series by nearly 20 games.

Oops and UO remind me of Tony Romo. He has great numbers but can't ever close the deal and win big or even medium games. Ooops is far overrated and quite an arrogant prick.

The games you mention were demoralizing losses for the Sooners. Yes, OU got a good old-fashioned spanking from USC in the National Title game. OU was outmatched from a talent standpoint against SC. The 2005-06 Trojans that lost to Texas were not nearly as talented defensively as the 2004-05 squad that crushed OU. Mack Brown's bowl record is better than Stoops' only because OU usually beats UT, then they find themselves in the Holiday or Alamo Bowl against the likes of Oregon State, Arizona State and Cal.

There are many great college football programs around the country with extremely large revenues, fan bases and tradition. College football is life in some states, but unless your respected team is being coached by Nick Saban, your are going to choke a few game here and there.

Romo? No championships or even a playoff win. He's an overpaid part-time golfer.

I'll agree with Stoops being arrogant. He hates dealing with the media. Not big on personality.

King, Juice or whatever your moniker is today (lol), talk about getting fat on cupcakes. Your team improved its bowl record against Iowa, UConn, Stanford to name a few. If it weren't for those easy fluffy opponents, Oops' record could very well be 4-10 in bowl games.

I am not a fan of OU at all but I was in the 70's and 80's when Switzer was coach and I had several friends that played for him. I don't know what happened, but when Oops took over, the OU fans became unbearable, arrogant, cocky and annoying. I know that not all are this way and certainly every program has their set of idiots but the ones I was around definitely made me root against OU. You don't appear to be one of those classless people that I have unfortunately encountered.

Don't recall what happened with the fans? The short answer is the 90's. And you said it best, every programs has their set of idiots. You have not seen anything yet, wait until OU consistently loses 4-5 game per year. Suicide rates in Oklahoma will triple.

King, I don't think UO will lose 4-5 games per season consistently, they are too good of a program to do that. Ah yes, the 90's. Those were some good times for a non-fan like myself and when Bob came in the fans took on his personality and arrogance.
