Tulsa Woman Dies After Being Electrocuted

A woman who fell through her attic and was electrocuted died Wednesday evening, according to Tulsa Police.

That electrtician could have learned some basic rescue skills, like CPR or even how to use a nonconductive object like a board to separate the victim from the wire.
Pitty people dont even bother to take basic first aid working in service positions.

This woman and her family have been friends of mine for over 40 years; with the family being memembers of my church. A terrible tragedy which leaves so many unanswered questions.

for the record the entire company is trained in basic first aid and cpr. dont pass judgement on someone or a company when you do not know the facts. turning off power and calling for help is the first thing you do. you do not want the situation to be made worse by having two people killed. it was an unfortunate accident.

Other than knob and tube... it could have been like my home where the service wires ran from meter can to the main breaker box with no circuit protection or even encased in a conduit. My home was built in 1956. Most of my neighbors homes are this way. I have corrected mine. For those that still have knob and tube wiring... it's time to update your service and wiring.

I'm a service Tech and I tell you right now I would never let a customer go up in a hot attic to show me something. I say "tell me what the problem is and I'll take care of it". Be nice to know what that Tech was being shown. I got a feeling it something to do with a smashed duct or air leak which he could (should) have found easy. Esp. in the small attic's in that area.

This Tech should have NEVER let her go up to show him something. That's what we get the BIG BUCKS for. Was there anyone else there that heard all this go down before she went up there? He more than likely didn't want to get in that hot attic and she was going to make sure her problem was fixed.

Makes me mad, what kind of "serviceman" would let someone go up in a hot attic on one of the hottest days of the year. If anything he should have darn near begged her not to go up there.

As one of the emergency personnel on this scene, as well as many others like it, I will say this: The news coverage never gives you the whole story. There's usually always quite a bit more to it than what you read here, so people need to think before they make assumptions or inappropriate/stupid comments

Miss Tearious.. although Mr. Sensitive didn't put it quite right I would rather fall through the ceiling than have my wife do so. I have known three folks who have done so. two of which were wives, and one male idiot. Some of us know to lay toeboards or walk on the rafters. Calm down.

JvL has it right. We are not hearing the full story. I have been shocked more than a few times as an electrician in a former career. Sometimes you have to work with live wiring. She was grounded really well somehow.

This was a terrible accident. The blame should not be put on either the lady or the air conditioner tech.

She should have left a mans job to a man, dummy fell through the cieling trying to walk on the sheet rock, oh well she should have let airco fix the problem instead of acting like she had a clue to what was going on, and where was her lazy husband he should have fixed the problem like a real man. And why would Airco let a customer in the attic anyways. all those houses on that side of town are a death trap, junk old wore out houses pizz pore wiring and plumbing, burn all them 100 year old junk houses dowm and start over.

No kidding, what the hell does this have to do with being a man or woman. the ceiling wasnt sexist, it was going to give either way. So what you are saying is a man would have had the time to think "hmm, thats a wire, dont grab that" in the . 3 seconds he had to think, jeez dude. I'm curious, are you married? i would say no just guessing.
