Hey everyone! I am new to all this. I have a few questions about Queen Creek.
We have visited AZ three times in the past 3 months. I absolutely love Queen Creek in Maricopa County. We have looked into Queen Creek in Pinal (sorry if the spelling is wrong) County, it's pretty far out there, but the housing prices out there are great and affordable. Can anyone give me some info on Queen Creek in Maricopa County and Pinal County. I know taxes are higher in Pinal County but that is about it.
How are the school? I have a 6 yr old
Scorpions? Snakes? anything to worry about?
Crime? Friendly? Family oriented?
We are from San Diego and we want to move to AZ. Any information you have would be great :)
Thanks,
Faun

We too are thinking of relocating to Q.C. Faun... did you ever find a good source of info? We are in an extremely great town in the Midwest and are "iffy" about leaving it. Is Q.C. a safe place?

You will be happy with Queen Creek, depending on the area you are looking to move to. We are in the northern part of QC which we love! Good luck with your move.

P.S. If you keep your home maintained by an exterminator you will not see scorpions, black widows, snakes, etc. Remember you're in the desert so these things will come around if you don't have it sprayed!

We are also trying to relocate to AZ. I've been 5 times this year. I love Queen Creek (Maricopa County). Friends almost bought in Pinal County, but visited during a monsoon. They could not get out, the roads were flooded. We are purchasing 1 mile from Gilbert (Power Ranch). I love the area. Check out the website schoolmatters.com . Schools in Maricopa County are much better than those in Pinal. There are tons of houses for sale in Pinal. That worries me for resale. Look at www.anzb.com and you can search all the communities.

All of Queen Creek in Pinal County is great. Not just the Northern part!

Copper Basin, Superstition Views, Magma Ranch, Magic Ranch are all in Queen Creek, Pinal County and are very nice places to live.

Remember that if you live south of AZ Farms Road you never have to get your car emissioned.

Happy House Hunting!

We moved to Queen Creek from Pennsylvania in 2004 and we love it...our kids go to San Tan schools and they're super...the quiet, peaceful warmth of the people & the climate is great. I think the reason Pinal schools rate lower than Maricopa is that in Coolidge/Florence there are many native/mexican students and the standards are typically lower for the families in rural areas (oops, I don't mean to sound racist)most of the schools in the areas around QC are part of Florence or Coolidge School districts...we are actually in QC town limits, but since we're in Pinal county our kids can't go to QC schools...but we like our kids' schools fine...

If you're considering moving to Queen Creek, please be aware that the schools in Pinal County area of Queen Creek have had their share of problems. Many principals have resigned or have been replaced. There is a high turnover of administrators here and overcrowding issues with San Tan Heights and Skyline Ranch (Florence School Dist.) Parents an teachers are frustrated with the system as the district is under new leadership. The problem is that the area grew too large and the district needs more schools. I would research test scores through azcentral.com if I were you. Queen Creek School Dist. has good test scores, but they too have their share of problems with their $3 million dollar deficit. Check out your school scores first.

Queen Creek is a very family oriented town. It's growing and will have a large library and new shopping and park areas soon. There are Charter schools in the area that have high test scores, like Edu-Prize (coming soon) and Leading Edge Academy and private schools in the area. With a new school opening near Skyline Ranch this year(Circle Cross Elementary) this hopefully will eliminate the overcrowding at Skyline. And maybe with the new leadership in Florence Schools, this will turn around the district to make the schools excelling like those in the Queen Creek Schools.

May I ask what neighborhood or at which crossroads you are located? We are houseshopping and do not want to buy into that problem. Kinda scary!!! Thanks!

I am from Gilbert, AZ and one thing you have to worry about is where your house is placed because they have had extreme problems with sink holes. Also the schools are not excelling like our schools here in Gilbert. I know many people who have moved out of Queen Creek because of the school system and certain crimes around their area.
Hope this helps some, but I think you should do some more research on your own.

We have lived in Queen Creek (Maricopa County) for a year and absolutely love it! We are in the Villages at Queen Creek and it is a wonderful neighborhood, full of happy families.

Our realtor did caution us to stay in Maricopa county for lots of reasons - schools, services, etc.

Another great neighborhood, not quite in QC, is Seville. There are tons of re-sales on the market because they let a lot of investors in early.

We are moving to Remington Heights (in QC) from NH. It is located 1 mile from Power Ranch in Gilbert (which is a huge master planned community). Power Ranch was beautiful, but enormous, kinda overwhelming. Being so close to Gilbert, has it's benefits. Lot's of shopping, food and fairly close to the 202 & 60. I also hear Pulte Homes is a reputable builder. I really liked Cortina as well, but the prices were much higher. Some of the lots were really small. Our lot is 65x110.

We loved the area and thought Remington Heights was really quaint. We visited 4 times this year before choosing Remington Heights. The sales staff was very helpful, which is something I did not find everywhere.

Where do you live...I live on Hunt Hwy near wagon wheel rd and only saw one this year so far ...we lived here since 2003, we saw a few in the first years...not that many and we never had exterminators for scorpions...it's odd that you have so many...

Anne W - I wouldn't say "all of Queen Creek in Pinal County is great". It's not. I guess some people may want to live in areas where people are murdered, schools are vandalized, cars are stolen, kids are just hanging around on the street or in parking lots looking for trouble...not me. No thanks!

Daily Horoscope for December 23

Leo

The atmosphere is highly combustible today, with people getting in a stew over the smallest little thing. You will also have a tendency to get hot under the collar, especially if someone isn't doing things as quickly as you'd like. Try to stop yourself getting in a rage because once that happens it will be difficult to cool down again. Maybe you need some fresh air?
