Why is it that whenever schools are faced with "brutal" cuts, the first ones being brutalized are the kids? Scholarships, achievement awards, advanced studies, accelerated classrooms, etc. are always first on the chopping block, while administration is last, if at all.
Redundant administration positions, along with their bloated salaries, could be eliminated by unification. The Santa Ynez Valley school system, in fact, the entire Santa Barbara County system, should be unified. Unification would help insure that the highest percentage of dollars goes into the classroom and the lowest percentage goes to administrative overhead. The eliminaion of job duplicity alone, could save millions of dollars. When small town, high school principal's salaries approach the salary of the U.S. vice president, something is askew!

Those damn chumash gave money for the tennis courts-why not for school books or another teacher? I know why- the chumash want the kids to get stupid to make the chumash feel better about themselves.
