From what I have read it seems like these parents did not monitor what they're kids were up too. I looked up Martin Cano's myspace page and was shocked when I saw it. His profile is not private all his parents had to do was search his name and behold his myspace page that glorified drugs. Most of the comments left on his photo page is regarding him being high. I guess some parents dont give S*** until it's too late!http://profile.myspace.co m/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.vi ewprofile&friendid=1364711 04

This is such a horrible tragedy. It could have been much worse, too. Thank God they didn't take the life of an innocent motorist in another vehicle like so often happens in these cases. When we drive the streets we risk our lives as long as there are drunks, drag racers and speeders behind the wheel. El Paso roads are not safe, especially in the wee hours. The police need to find the drunk drivers and lock them up.

Yeah, where were you parents when your sons were out at 3 a.m.??? That's what happens when you don't keep tabs on your kids. You let them run around, doing whatever they want...then you wonder why tragedy strikes or why your kids are in jail or something else.

Ha!First of all the only person here that needs to go to school is you! Then maybe you can learn how to spell through! I DO NOT give kids a bad name. It is those ignorant kids like you that post things on your myspace like Martin posted thinking that adults are too stupid to know how to look it up. Well sweetie, I'm not stupid I can look it up and I can determine for myself if there was any adult supervision and in this case there was none!

Losers!
You are concerned about the wall that is something that can be replaced a human life can not. Yes I understand that it was their choice to drink and get behind the wheel but the fact is these young men are gone and their families and friends will never see them again. As a teacher I will never see my student again either. That is the hardest part. Think back to when you were young. I agree the parents need some time to deal with their loss and don't need other people on here putting them down. Put yourself in their shoes it hurts no matter what you all think. God Please give the families of Martin and Adrian the strength to make it through this tough time in their lives. Martin I will miss your smiling face.

Wow, it is so easy to throw low blows when one is on the other side of the fence. These three kids were just like most teens their ages, thinking that no one could harm them, that they were invinsible. I was once 18 too, and i bet most of you were as well, so you should be able to relate. But the sad reality is that that is not true, life is fragile.
Martin was a second cousin of mine and I can tell you for a fact that he was not spoiled. He was a tough kid. He had much respect and love for his family. You all should be ashamed of yourselfs for attacking all their parents in this time of grief.
I agree this is not going to be the last time we read a story like this in the paper, but lets show some respect.
Most 16 year olds were not getting drunk out of their minds and ramming into a concrete fence at 4 am. that's why most 16 year olds survived Easter weekend.

Where on earth are the parents? Maybe out partying themselves or too drunk themselves to realize their boys aren't home when they should be?

These parents aren't parenting their children. They're trying to be best buddies, buying them cars and giving them money to buy booze, maybe even bought the booze for them. Who supplied these youngsters with the alcohol? That person should be sent to prison.

Before you get all bent out of shape thinking this was some tragic death, scroll up and check out that myspace page. What's good is that they didn't kill some innocent driver, maybe someone heading to work that morning.

NO IDTIOT!! IT'S STUPID ASS "GANSTAS" LIKE YOU THAT PUT YOUR HEAD IN THE SAND. I WORK FOR THE EL PASO SCHOOL DISTRICT AND MANY OF THESE KIDS ARE ROTTEN SPOILED, THINKING THEY CAN DO WHAT THEY WANT, TALK BACK TO AUTHORITY. YOU S-T-F-U!!
NATURAL SELECTION IS WORKING PERFECTLY, DUMASSES LIKE THESE LITTLE IDIOTS BITING THE DUST. THAT SOUNDS HARSH AND DO FEEL BAD FOR THE FAMILY, BUT THIS IS NO ACCIDENT, THIS IS JUST PLAIN RECKLESS AND IRRESPONSIBLE.
OH SURE, THESE KIDS ARE GOOD SAINTLY KIDS THAT WERE IN AN UNEXPECTED ACCIDENT, C'MON!!! WHAT ARE THEY DOING AT 4AM, DRINKING & DRIVING, SPEEDING, NOT WEARING THEIR SEATBELTS!! IT'S NOT LIKE WE ARE LIVING IN THE 70'S WHERE WE ARE BARELY FINDING OUT ABOUT THE EFFECTS OF DRINKING $ DRIVING. WE HAVE COMMERCIALS EVERY 5 MINUTES ABOUT THE ILLS OF DRINKING & DRIVING, MESSAGE BOARDS DISPLAYING HOW MANY DEATHS FOR THE YEAR, THE INTERNET, MOTHERS AGAINST DRUNK DRIVERS. SO THERE IS NO EXCUSE WHATSOERVER FOR PEOPLE TO THE IRRESPONSIBLE AND STUPID THINGS THEY DO TO GET THEMSELVES KILLED. I GUESS ALL THAT MOTA, HASH KILLED SOME OF HIS BRAIN CELLS AND DAMAGED HIS JUDGMENT. I HAVE LITTLE PATIENT FOR DUMASSES LIKE THESE LITTLE IDIOTS!!! AND SAVE YOU'RE HIDING FROM A KEYBOARD, I'M A FORMER MARINE SO DON'T EVEN GO THERE, I'D TELL YOU THE SAME THING IN YOUR FACE.

While I feel deeply the sorrow of this family I also feel that this is all too common in El Paso.

It completely confounds me when my neighbors and co-workers talk proudly about how their son went out with his buddies last night and is paying for the partying with a massive hangover. In most cases the sons are young teens who do not even have a driver's license but the parents let them take the family car.

The deaths of these youngsters is the result of the "boys will be boys" and the "they're only young once" groups.

If parents would be parents and say "sorry but curfew is midnight and you better be home or else" or "you do not have a license to drive so you cannot take the car" there would be a lot fewer deaths among our promise of the future. Fewer kids speeding on the streets killing themselves and others in the process.

Parents need to step up to the plate and learn to "JUST SAY NO!"
