Nice to see another major development in Santa Teresa and, of course, without a mention one of MVEDA.

So remind me again why MVEDA's convicted DWI drunk: president and CEO Davin Lopez is getting paid a six-figure salary from City of Las Cruces and Dona Ana County funds?

He's doing what to earn the money? Staying out of El Paso County and avoiding another arrest there?

It's mind boggling this criminal has been allowed to skate while thousands in Las Cruces and Dona Ana County are without jobs.

But, then, take a look at who's on the MVEDA board and you'll understand better.

The whole organization needs to be abolished and all who are paid fired for incompetency and fraud.

Santa Teresa and Sunland seem to be getting the whole works. What happens to Anthony? Does it continue being the "WELFARE TOWN" as it has been called before. We really need help for that poor little city. All these illegals have moved in, thanks to the people who okay Housing. All these apartments that have been built are for them, the illegals and what do they do to Anthony, just cause trouble. They won't work but they have money for drugs, drugs which they themselves bring in. They have caused more trouble for this place, which used to be such a peaceful little town. It is about time that the governor did something for Anthony too, the mayor can't do it all on his own. He needs help from Santa Fe, how about it Governor Susana Martinez?

So where are the public accounting for all the damage payments and hospital bills MVEDA paid for? Lopez severely injured the woman at the El Paso intersection...MVEDA paid all her bills, her follow-up...and bought a new vehicle for her.

So...which higher degree that Lopez has is worth this kind of coverup...from people who have not gotten a dime back from the hundreds of thousands he's cost us Dona Ana County and Las Cruces taxpayers?

Lopez is one of the most arrogant examples of what we do not need in Las Cruces. MVEDA has refused repeated requests to explain his punishment, his probation or any punitive action at all..

If other elected officials who take public money and are convicted of drunken driving and have to have their feet held to the fire...then this pretty boy does too.

This will be resolved...one way or another...I promise.

So the senior meal programs are getting cut in Dona Ana and we have money to pay MVEDA law suits?
What about LC

Rio Rancho, NM

#11 Mar 4, 2011
Hey Martinez we need infrastructure funds in LC too! I dont know about the rest of the town but I dont especially care for the smell of human feces wafting around town, I dont care to drive on cracking roads EVERYWHERE, and most of all I dont are to read stories that the EPA has declared our drinking water wells contaminated whether they are utilized or not. Figure it out with population growth the wells will eventually need to be reopened and the longer the worthless "City Council" waits, the worse the problem becomes! Is it really that hard to understand?

How can MVEDA get away with this, has there been an investigation?
