In other words, what do you think the town needs?

Comical lol... In all seriousness, am interested in relocating and curious what everyone would like to see open up. I understand it's difficult to find and keep employees there, turn over is high in a lot of places. I have a few business ideas that would generate jobs for locals but would like to know the general consensus on what the town needs.

Unfortunately Santa Rosa is all about politics, outsiders are not welcomed to bring their ideas to improve the community, but It would be great to have a big grocery store, some type of entertainment for kids, & you'd have to bring your own employees because they would rob you blind.

In all honesty... walmart. a grocery store and if not a walmart with a real grocery store. a lot of people travel to edge wood or Vegas for food and that just sucks. No more motels. we need a bowling alley or a night club. real nightclub. something foe the kids. for real

I've thought about it alot and I think a bowling alley would do real well here. Most of the thirty-something parents are into sports and this would give them something else to compete in, especially if there are bowling leagues. Of course, there would need to be video games and other entertainment for the little ones to plug thier quarters into.

Another business I think would do well is an office supply store. Especially if they carry stuff for computers and printers. This town is desperately lacking in this area. Computer repair would also be a great added feature of the business.

What type of business would bring more business to the community and benifit as a whole. Santa Rosa mostly runs on Tourism. The main attractions that attract travelers to Santa Rosa other then being on Route 66 is the renown Blue Hole. Having 1 of the 4 biggest and most popular State Park/Lake out of a total of 6 in New Mexico is what puts Santa Rosa on the maps. Santa Rosa logo City of Natural Lakes,it speaks for itself, The overall question is how to keep tourist intrested in staying and returning year after year and adding numbers to the ammount of tourist and commerce to the community

You are all dreaming. Even the businesses we do have our closing left and right! Were headed to ghost town status. What we REALLY need before anything else is a new mayor!

Exactly! There's a reason you all have a huge amount of hotels and restaurants, because of all the tourists and travelers! It's extremely difficult to make it without tapping into 1-40 traffic and tourism.

Think this is a great idea! Leagues, teen night bowling, bday parties, arcade, pool tables... Would take quite a while to recoup that kind of investment but it would be something fun for the community

so now its his fault its a ghost town. I think not, he ain't the one that bought a million dollar slid for the community that nobody got to enjoy. Instead its in the back yards of selfish locals that except bribes from politics that think about none other than whats in their pocket and not in the pocket of the community. The town could be doing good right now if it wasn't for bad politics needless to say bad mayors. I'm sure this mayor will take the town some where only because he don't bow down to those individuals that Santa Rosa has for several years I'm assuming like yourself Mr. Gene or whatever you must of not got your way. If this place turns into a ghost town its because of the people in it.

That mayor been there 2 years and hasnt done nothing. As for the slide if the council would have let Joe put the slide up (and it wasnt a million dollars) our summers would be booming right now but they fought like little kids and look at out town dying a slow death now. Im ready to move my family outta here

Imagine the money the business people could have made if the city had put up the water park..people would have come from all over the area and spent money...people in Santa need to look at the big picture and quit thinking about what's in it for me
