Continue to put up with this kind of abuse and see what you are left with, Florida. Although, I suppose this is typical of all facets of elected officials up through the federal government, democrat or republican.

wow, this newspaper is on a witch hunt for republicans. The $75,000 salary as a university professor and $100,000+ salary as a vice president of a university seems fair to me.

Appears they are bailing out for higher paying jobs while they can. Job security. With the economy in the crapper and the votes they will have to make in the future, none are likely to be voted back in. See, all or our government officials are not totally stupid. Stay in for the next 2 years and your goose is cooked. The folks are not going to be happy at all with the things you do.

its not the amount its the fact they are getting paid by a school that they make decisions about in there government role. Who is to say they are not using there influence in the state house to get special treatment for the school who has hired them its a huge conflict of interests kind of like a legal bribe.

Business as usual in Florida. And yet, we keep voting them back in to office.

Ethics are only good for the rank and file, not our elected leaders.

Are you completely clueless?

Mikey H is getting paid $75,000 as a PART TIME instructor teaching one class. In NO way is that salary fair.

Second, Sansom is doing the job PART TIME and still getting paid over $100k. Again, how is that fair?

This is unbelievable. This guy hasn't even been in charge for a week and has already cashed in. Do these people really think that most Floridians can't see through their blatant money grabs? This guy might have some power for the next two years, but he better get used to his cushy college job because after he is out as a legislator he won't get voted in to anything else.

Has it come to the point where we need a state constitutional amendment saying that a sitting member of the Florida Legislature cannot be hired for a position by any organization that receives funding from the Legislature?

Of course they (the Legislators) would never let such a thing get on the ballot, but I am willing to bet if it did you wouldn't have to worry about it getting 60%, it would probably get 85-90%.

How much is Linda Chapin pulling down at UCF? How much is Lapchick making for doing nothing constructive? Two Republicans in the system is nothing compared to all the Democrats hanging around our universities spouting the far-left doctrine.

I didnt read anywhere in the article stating that Mike H is working part time teaching one class. In regard to Samson, he is getting an adjusted annual salary of 100K.

But regardless of how much they make, these are the going rates of university professors and presidents.

When was Linda Chapin a member of the state legislature?

The point isn't the philosophy that is or isn't "in the system" (though if universities were as far-left as you believe, they wouldn't be hiring these guys). The point is that our tax dollars are supposed to support EDUCATION, and not perks for politicos.

Sansom's part-time salary would buy FOUR FULL-TIME writing instructors. I, for one, would rather pay for kids to learn to write in standard English than pay for Sansom to indulge in his cushy lifestyle.

Both Sansom AND UNF ought to be ashamed. And Haripolos/UF, and Chapin/UCF, and any other corrupt political payoff arrangements. Shameful.

Keep up the great work exposing the crooked politicans! With the Internet there is no way of hiding these things from the public like in the old days.

You are adding a new dimension to the term of political criminal. your already well-documented cashing-in on your position is already so well documented. I personally doubt you will finish this term.'Adjusted salary' for teaching one class part-time. I know that these missives represent 100 to one, your constituents, who, with this outrage, will see that your tenure is more like 36 days, rather than 36 months.
