It's a shame that or city officials were unable to negotiate a solution with the farmers market vendors because the people who suffer are the locals, businesses that benefited from the increased traffic and St Andrews reputation as an up and coming area.
As for the city's comment that the 1% merchant tax has always been there but they were lax on enforcing it.......... WTF. Are they serious? These people are suppose to be running our city and I would like to know where else they have been 'Lax' at collecting the city's money!?

Tell me more about Capt. James Pic! To be honest I haven't bothered with local elections in recent years, I end up disappointed because they never seem to really see the potential of this area without the surveys and endless data reports to confirm the obvious, and I am dismayed at how long anything takes to happen in this town unless the city has an alternative motive that we find about later on down the road!!
However I don't want to be a backseat driver, you know the type, always telling you your doing it wrong but never have a solution so I have made a resolution this year to get more involved!
That's my moan for the day!!!

I can't wait to check out the new Farmers Market, Whoop, Whoop.
I love it when a plan comes together, so when a 'Plan B' was implemented right after the old Farmers Market abandoned us I was thrilled!
By changing vendors we have saved unnecessary wasted time going back and forth with the tax argument and avoided the suffering of reduced foot traffic for other business in the area and tax money for local improvements.
The old vendors will realize moving to the beach just isn't quite the same as St. Andrews ! This area is a cool, trendy, arty, local coastal community with it's own charm natural and the beach is........well the beach! No real charm or personality or cultural appeal like St. Andrews!! Can you tell I love St. Andrews.
Goodnight :)
