SORRY IF THIS IS A STUPID QUESTION BUT I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO WHY WOULD YOU NOT WANT TO GET CAUGHT IN THE PASS WITH THE TIDE GOING OUT AND WHAT IS "THE PASS"

The Pass is an artificial channel cut between the Bay and Gulf. It has a Granite jetty on both Golf sides.
One is on Shell Island if you care to pay to play or have a boat.

Are you really being serious? I started the post looking for good places to snorkel and my 10 year old comes and asks me what your talking about. If you want to have this kind of request plz start your own post because I really don't appreciate it!!!

Also we are staying at the Summit how far is shell island and St Andrew state lark jetty from there? Is there a place near either of those places that rents equipment? I really appreciate all your help! THX AGAIN :))

Lena, you are in luck. The Summit is right near the entrance to St. Andrews State Park. The snorkeling there is great. What Old Diver was referring to is that the currents get strong when the tide is going out, so keep that in mind. It sometimes almost sucks you through the jetty boulders at the openings.
Too bad your kid had to read watcher's crap. Totally inappropriate.

You can actually rent snorkeling gear by the hour at the Jetty Store which is right at the jetties. I recommend mask fins and snorkel, the fins are necessary to deal with the currents.
