Crescent Dunes earnings sharply up
Crescent Dunes Solar Energy Project's profits were sharply up from the last year of sluggish energy sales, according to the third quarter report that the parent of the plant, Tonopah Solar Energy, LLC has filed with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. David Jacobs/Pahrump Valley Times Tonopah Solar Energy LLC is a subsidiary of SolarReserve, a Santa Monica, Calif.-based privately held company that calls itself a leading global developer of utility-scale solar power projects, including electricity generation by solar thermal energy and photovoltaic panels.

With all of this plants "heat storage" for after hours generation, it could still use an energy storage system like utility scale flow battery of around 6GW of storage to help regulate and smooth the grid during peak demand times of the afternoon and evening hours.
