how does it compare to other enclosed malls?

architect/attractiveness, stores, entertainment, safety, parking, etc...

This mall sucks in every way imaginable. Its outdated, has over 70% vacant stores, and has merchandise that looks like its ready for Goodwill.

the mall just launched a new website. the mall has new management now, and has plans to replace mervyns with forever 21, add a new 11-space food court, a couple of new teenager stores, and a 14-screen Regal Cinemas where the old gottschalks building was.

I hear what you're saying about putting in new spaces in the food court and such, but I think the big question on the public's mind is, "Are those spaces going to be filled?" and "Are the spaces of the rest of the barren mall going to remain empty or will they be filled as well?" The mall can't be making money with most of it's stores being empty. I wonder how high space rents are? That could be a deterrent for businesses to join in this failing economy.
