Oh please is right, Betty "was" a great councilmember, if you have heard her speak lately you will know that she doesn't know what is going on half the time and she is going to be the mayor next year. Please help us. Juanita, don't know much about her can only go off of the Forum and the interview with the Daily News, she does not seem like she is a strong women at all I think she will be a great puppet for the City Manager, Bill Rounds and Joe Serrano. You would think the City elections would be different then High School elections, guess not! We seem to still vote on popularity and not intelligence and what would be best for the community. Hope I'm wrong but I don't think so!

Dear SFS Voter, you are one of 2 people either a man who gets turned down by alot of women because of your ugly attitude and personality or you are a just an ugly woman angry at anybody else that is better looking than you.Based off the comments about Betty you are the type of person that just loves kicking people down because you are unhappy with your life.If you are who I think you are haven't you been removed from committees because of your ugly attitude and personality? You are so well accomplished in your life you still live at home with mom and your occupation is a travel agent. You critize other people's lack of leadership and knowledge. good thing for you, all they require for your job is a g.e.d.By the way remember, you're middled aged and bitchy now someday you will be as old as Betty,I only hope that the younger generation treats you with the same respect that you are treating our seniors of today.

Do you personally know Juanita? How can you say she does not seem like she is a strong woman? Give her a chance, and then make a comment if you are not satisfied. Then YOU can run for council and make a difference.

Here is a comment and a challenge for you! First off, I am proud to have known Juanita for several years. You have no worries when it comes to strength and poise as Juanita will show you how level headed she is and how she will handle whatever comes to her as a Councilwoman in a most thoughtful manner. She has a multitude of business and management skills and will put them to good use to benefit the city. Secondly, it requires little skill to sit and snipe at those that stand up and run for a position of responsiblity in the community. Why not put your energy into running in the next election and report to us about how many citizens vote for you? I don't have any confidence that you will make that attempt as you will have to face people like yourself that rather assail those that get up and do vs. others like yourself that sit at home and complain and don't make an effort to participate in change. You are simply a person who "can't" that hates those who "can" and do dare to make change happen. You are in for a pleasant surprise from our new councilwoman. If you are still unhappy then get off your bum and run!

I think you will find that others before Mrs. Putnam were greatly envolved in establishing Senior Activities and deserve a nod as well in all fairness.

Trujillo only one the votes because she deals with residents who reside in the city of Santa FE Springs. She doe not have any experience any one can volunteer as a young as five years old. As for Gonzalez he is not a people person and Putnam needs to retire and let someone new have a turn in the council seat.

Ms. Trujillo won not one! Don't you hate it when the spell checker correctly spells for you but picked the wrong word! On to real issue: Ms. Trujillo has plenty of experience that makes her well suited for the council. She had done more than vounteer from an early age in her life. As for Gonzalez who cares if he is a people person? Do Gonzalez's council votes reflect what is good for the City? If his votes reflect on what is best for the city then that is what matters. Lastly, Mrs. Putnam, if you think she needs to retire so badly then you need to gather yourself and campaign or get behind someone who is campaigning to make the change and get votes. Put your talk into action. By the way, how many council meetings did you attend this year or in previous years and when was the last time you volunteered in SFS or any where. There are people who talk and those that do. Dare to be one of those people that dare to do things and stand behind what they do.

Thanks, glad to know I was not the only person around that knows for a fact that Mrs. Putnam did not create all that is good in SFS. I've been around as long as you have and recall many others that did things and walked the neighborhood at election time and not just the week prior to the election. The Betty Wilson senior center was up and going before Mrs. Putnam was elected if I recall correctly. Betty Wilson was a strong force in the City long before Mrs. Putnam. Betty Wilson was a dear neighbor and with others really put into action decisions that were long in range and make the City what it is today. Never forget that it takes planning and vision to guide a city in the right direction. Santa Fe Springs has been lucky to have folks that were great planners compared to cities like Norwalk. I for one believe that our newest council member (Ms. Trujillo) will carry our city forward and if not she will be replaced and not survive the next election. Good think some of these folks that gripe about experience were not around when this city was incorporated!! Gosh, incumbents were not always incumbents after all. It is a new day folks go forward!

I could not recall all those familiar names you quoted! People that got the job done and put some excellent planning in place to develop a better future for the City. There was a Ron Kerns if I recall as well as I remember him coming to the house during election season more than once looking for a vote. I aways think of SFS as the Little City that Can do Anything with a diverse population.

I also recall Ernie Flores campaigning. In some ways it does not seem that long ago. But, alas it has been quite awhile since Mr. Flores ran for office.

It has been quite sometime for both Ernie Flores and Joe Ramirez...but that is SFS history....Both names are engraved at the new Past Present and Future Monument next to Heritage Parks...But I again challenge today's City Council to right this terrible wrong and put both literally on the map with a street named for both of them!!!!

I have not been over to new development of houses yet. Wonder if they already did the street names? Can't see why this would be a easy to remedy thing as SFS always has something in the works. I really assumed that these guys already had streets named after them. Do you know what the process is? I don't know but hopefully an error of assumption. I recall Mr. Flores more so than Ramirez. Remember Florese smiling for some reason. Like they way you think "Study".

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Gemini

It's a busy day and you've got quite enough to do without having to cope with people clamoring for your attention and likely to go into a huff if they don't get it. Is this person feeling neglected because you're busily occupied elsewhere or are there other reasons for their demanding mood? Simply giving them a big hug could make all the difference to their behavior.
