My father was a WWII vet as well. These men did what it took to get it done. I don't think this country will ever produce another generation of people like them. Everybody now is too selfish and self centered.

If possible, I would like to know if I could email Joe Armanini directly. He flew with my grandfather, Col. Neil "Chick" Harding (CO of the 100BG). I have a picture of the two of them shaking hands. I would love to know if Mr. Armanini has any stories he could share about my grandfather. Thank you.

Joe and my Dad may have known each other. My Dad was a Fighter Pilot in the South Pacific and lived in Santa Cruz. His name was Perry Walsh Huntsman, son of Police Chief Al Huntsman. They both are true heroes. Joe, you look great!!

Hi Joe,
I was watching the air war show the other night, and I couldn't believe it when they mentioned the name of your plane -the El Psstofo!
About a month before this, I decided to see if I could find out more information about George Ziegler, who was like a 2nd father to me, on the internet. I knew he was in the air force in Europe and after much sleuthing discovered he was a bombardier on the El'Psstofo. So, you can imagine my surprise when your show came on and it said that you were a bombardier on the same plane as George Ziegler. He might have taken your place on the El Psstofo after you left. The El'Psstofo did not last long after that. He was shot down during the Muenster raid on 10-10-43. As you probably know, the whole crew survived and spent the rest of the war in pow camps, George Ziegler being in Stalag Luft 111. After the war, he became an Episcopal priest in Tacoma, Washington.
It was a great show and I wish you the best.

I just wanted to tell Mr. Armanini that I was a Navy Corpsman who served in Vietnam. I wanted to thank him for his sacrifice in WWII. It is because of him, and men like my father, who served in the Pacific, that my daughter can live in the freedom of the greatest nation on the planet. May God bless you sir.

My father may have known Joseph Armanini and played football with him. My father also went to Santa Cruz High and played football. They were a year different in age, my dad being younger. He went to the Pacific and flew with the "Ace of Spades" squadron. I have many photos he brought back and have put them on a small web site:http://vmsb231.soundrenta ls.org/

Hello Joe,
We live in Holland in Europe. Still after all these years we grab the oppertunity to thank in you all the American Soldiers, Salors and Airmen that died for our freedom. We can not htank you enough for what you have done for us up there. My father and mother often told us of the contrails high above. They also told us about the American airmen that were saved by the Dutch people from the Germans. Today is build on history and altough we all look ahead, we must never forget the past. Even today there rae contrails up there in the air over Holland Joe and as then American planes fly overhead from England to Afganisthan. How far is then from now Joe.
God bless you and America.
