So, most of their inebriated customers live in Aptos. Maybe Aptos neighbors should car pool downtown to get drunk, then share paying for their ride home?

Great business idea, with benefits both practical and virtuous. Hope this works out for them.

I love this idea, and have heard of people doing this in southern California cities.

I have always thought that there should be a certain amount of responsibility the bars have beyond cutting people off when they are obviously hammered already. On busy holidays or summer weekends having a shuttle service would be so great, or offering tokens as discounts for a cab ride home. I know it could be costly, but these are the businesses that are doing some of the best business downtown. Maybe the city or state would be willing to give tax breaks to bars that provide this kind of service. It just upsets me to think that people are making decisions based on convenience or cost when it comes to drinking and driving. Who makes the best decisions when they are drinking? Really, it takes very little to get a DUI as well. I realize it is ultimately the responsibility of the people to make proper choices when indulging in Alcohol, but not everyone seems capable of doing that. We need to make it "cool" to get a ride after a night on the town. Save a lot of peoples lives!!

I hope these guys have their cards at every bar in town, so everyone knows that this is an option.

If you have a Facebook page, click "like" on "Hero Designated Drivers" page to get everyone's attention out there. Something as wonderful as this needs to be supported and encouraged.
Thanks for starting this, guys!

Might be nicer, if the bar paid a flat $20 and allow the customer pay the mileage - the profit, from excess drinking will more than cover it and provide good will for bar industry that helps kill people.
Now, take the idea to San Lorenzo Valley for the after work Friday drunks and keep a few more innocent people alive.
Profit is necessary for this little company to grow and hire more drivers.

This is a taxi service. It should be regulated. Cab companies in santa cruz have to have a million dollar policy for accidents. Doubtful this fly by the night operation has any coverage. Riding a scooter down Soquel in the middle of the night is not prudent. Can you imagine a fleet of scooters?

Hopefully this is a fast growing business because I can't tell you how many tickets I have gotten when I have left my car downtown. You never know if it has gotten broken in to or if it will even be there when you get back. I just hope they don't burn out on collecting money from drunken fools that don't have any money on them. Good job guys!!!

"They ask customers to sign a waiver saying the vehicle is insured."

They have known drunk people sign a waiver? Good luck with that.

A happy ending? They mean 'drive you home' literally, not figuratively.
