Alright Posner, let's here the conspiracy theory about this one... was it the paving company lobby... or the friends of motorhomes alliance... i know, it was the reptillian aliens whom control the car companies.

The title is a bit misleading, no? Makes it sound like the accident was precipitated by Bike to Work Day. If this guy rode every day, it was just a bad bit of luck.

Definitley part of the motor home alliance that congregates daily and yells at passing by cyclists on West Cliff Drive. Sadly, cars are not the only murder weapons.

Those are birds of your feather. All those hippie bums ride bikes.
They were probably just laughing at the sight of you in your spandex...

You are saying amen to an incomplete thought, and that says alot about your ineptitude.

Misspelling aside, the rest of us were able to figure out what his post said. The problem in thought (or lack thereof) is on _your_ end.

With a name like Barry Willingham I would use a name like Tinky Winky.

The fact that the AP picked up on this story annoys me. A great event, Bike to Work Day, is being cast in a way that it makes biking appear dangerous. I am constantly seeing articles about car accidents, and much more rarely bike accidents. I bike 36 miles a day to and from work for 5 years, and have not had any problems. Seriously, we need more people to ride bikes seeing as gas is already 4$ a gallon, and there is no indication the price will not continue to rise. I think this is bad press, period.

Whoa. A little strong there fellow bicyclist. I bike 20 miles to work each day for the past 8 years. I have been forced off the road, missed a pole, but broke my collar-bone. Bicycling amongst larger vehicles is dangerous. Safer on the bike path. How many traffic laws did you break today on your holier than thou ride to and from work today? Did you put yourself at risk? Just because gas is $4 a gallon, doesn't give you the right to dictate your preference to others. It is still America. Let's run with your logic a little though. You claim to bike to work everyday, why do you care about the price of gas?

I ride my bike a lot, but I dont accidentally ride it into stuff like this guy did.

Might as well put a warning sign on everything if you're going that route, lol.

Yo jeb here is a complete thought, you should get back on your medications. There maybe should have been a sign, and amen brother would be another persons way of agreeing to that fact. I have a couple other complete thoughts for you but they are too complicated for you to understand.

I thought that this fatality happened on a bike path, because the cyclist hit a barrier too close to the path. The evidence that bike paths are safer than roads is thin at best. This story certainly doesn't support the idea.

I just know it was the vast right wing conspiracy, they don't like bike riders. They want us all to use internal combustion engines. Keep the oil flowing. Lube oil on bike chains is just not enough to justify drilling in Alaska.
