Calderon: US should fix economy, then immigration

President Felipe Calderon said Thursday he knows Barack Obama is committed to immigration reform, but that the best thing the American president can do - even for Mexicans - is to fix the U.S. economy. Full Story

What he's saying is that the USA should first create more jobs for Mexicans, then he'll send more Mexicans.

Mexico should be more concerned about fixing their own country from top to bottom. They should reform their economy and give their people options other than running across our borders as some sort of government employment policy.

If OBOMBER caves into amnesty he should be charged with and tried for treason...along with any politician who advocates amnesty regardless of party affiliation. Imagine rewarding people who broke the laws concerning citizenship, with citizenship.Hey....that may be an idea....maybe if Holder gets his way with the assault weapons ban...he will reward those of us who ignore that law with an assault weapon.

What kind of a country is it?
Allowing the people to seek shelter and noble virtues of the humanity which are not available elsewhere and then degrading the immigrants as illegal ;immoral, illicit, Illiterates?
How can a country fix its economy while the ego-centric consumption with borrowed credit card?

My unassailable observation is this.

The Americans should put their flag down with respect and seek co-operation with other unfortunate decent world

I love it when the Mexicans have the audacity to mettle in US internal affairs. If Americans did that in Mexico, there would be riots and signs of "Yanqui Go home." The Mexicans should stop worrying about the US and start focusing on their failed narco-state and their economic and immigration problems. The last thing we need is Mexican advice, considering the their record of failure at every human level.

So when the Turks start demanding German citizenship as well as all the benefits German citizens get to your own detriment and future will you be as accomodating? I doubt it especially when it hits your pocketbook. America does more to alleviate human suffering and provide opportunities for disadvantaged and suffering people than all of Europe combined so stop being an unassailable hypocrite.

America need not follow the stupidity that plagues other nations by abandoning it's sovereignty to people who wish to exploit it and it's resources for their own benefit not for the benefit of the national good. Now that is unassailable to me and a lot of Americans

Well at least he is admitting that we have a border. Too bad everything on his side of the border sucks.

Umm no kidding. The elites in Mexico have no intention of giving up the feudal system that is their gov't and economy. Mexicans talk with gushing pride about their oil industry and Slim Helu as examples of their progress in the world. Well their oil industry is run corrupt incompetents and the oil is running out due to their disregard for stable drilling practices and Mr Slim is an oligarch who more than likely get his a*s*s handed to him by American businessmen in a legal competitive environment. Mexico considers the US as a safety valve for their overpopulation and as a source of money to be stolen from their poor. Amazing that their President has the audacity to suggest or direct our foreign policy. In the US he would be another union hack

yes we would
if you wanted to create jobs then deport the 15,000,000 illegals
millions of jobs are taken by illegals,-carpenters-brick layers- plasters- painters-grounds keepers-hotel workers=resturaunt workers- road workers- laborers- and so on.
MEXICO IS A FAILURE just like most countries in this world thats why everyone wants to come here to the BEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD.
if you think taxes are high here in the US then think about this the french pay 70 percent in taxs middle income
so does most socialist type countries
England has a high tax rate also why do you think all of their stars like the beatles and anyone else who makes alot of money moves to the US.
WE NEED TO GET RID OF THESE PANSY AS LIBERALS AND RUN OUR COUNTRY LIKE IT WAS OUR COUNTRY AND NOBODY ELSES. WE OWN THIS LAND WE FOUGHT AND DIED FOR THIS LAND WE PAID FOR THIS LAND WE BUILD THIS COUNTRY
rise up and take back our country before it is to late.

Let's carpet bomb Mexico and take it's resources. Then ship it's citizens that are in the USA back in buses. This is a truly worthless nation/government that is a cancer on North America.

The Thiefing Calderon should quit ripping Mexicans blind....then Mexicans would not have to flock to the U.S., even with the curreent economy, to find work to feed there poor families. Further, Calderon should come clean and tell us about his family ties with the Sinaloa Cartel being that his sister is married to Chapo Guzman Loera. He should be arrested like Manuel Noriega!
