Just another example of the total Liberals and their ideals getting abuse by foreigners. "Nothing against good law abiding foreigners" But this is the same example seen time and time again can we say "Hotel owners" in santa cruz a few months ago. For those that call me racist I laugh as it was in the very article that the hotel "Indians" were very racist charging extra fees and deposits to certain ethnic groups. So call them racist. But here is the deal you get these "Foreigners" that abuse the system which is running wild over the hill in san jose. Were are these owners of the liquor store "San Jose" surprise... What is going on here is these people bluntly break the rules and think they are not going to get caught then when they do they cry "I no speak english to well" or "I am not from here and I dont know a whole lot about the laws" or "Play the dumb foreigner role" and try to play the sympathy role to get out of it or a lesser charge. And guess what? It works! why because liberals are stupid enough to believe these people for face value when if they did their homework they would find that these individuals usually have a long history of pulling things like this for a long time and know exactly what they were doing..
Look at the names for christ sakes all they are doing is "Closing the store when they really did not have to" all in order to do a shell game sell the store or shop to another "Family" member and reopen the business without having to pay the fines or do the "Time" or "Punishment" for selling to minors. They just reopen the shop under a different "Family Members or friends name" Duh....
Look at the quote from the ABC officer
"They need to make sure they're following the law,"
And the Police Lt.
"Santa Cruz police Lt. Larry Richard said. "We shouldn't have to come in and give them notice."
These foreigners know the rules they are just like little kids trying to get away with something as long as you allow them too.. The test the envelope of the rules set out.. All in order to gain a profit no matter what. Why do liberals allow these people to get away with this stuff.. "Liberals are always screaming equality but when it calls for equality by all when it comes to playing by the rules they want exception" BS! You want a piece of this american dream you can earn it legally just like the rest of us and play by the rules just like everyone else then you will earn the respect and privilege of being called a american. Just like things in life you "EARN" things like the right to be called American not just get it handed to you. Because if its just handed to you get what happens here no respect for what it means to be american.

Welcome to Marijuanaville. The police get their marching orders from the potheads, who control a city of Santa Cruz, where you can smoke dope instead drinking the US Govt's legal booze...

Ernies at one time was a decent store to shop in. Then they started selling Pornography in the open (when they were next to the old Albertsons)

Hopefully the new owners will clean up the store and encourage a higher end retail traffic and not redeem the coupons for cans and bottles that were recycled out at Costco.

But heck, Shoppers Corner already does that !! They are a great place to shop.

anybody else remember way back when Ernie's was where Limoncello is now?

I'm curious if this "Boota" from the article is that same guy that has worked there for over a decade now.

I know... Its sad there was a time when you "Earned" that privalige to be one.. When you were proud to be called one. Now days the best the 25 year old "Pelon" which means "Bald headed" for the idiot that does not even know what he calls himself.. LoL. most likely due to his lack of brain cells or perhaps the lack of capability to read a written language other than "Budwiser" or a Section 8 housing form. To your "Yawn" Pelon I say here is a razor go shave your head since thats your name..

Yes the probably were a decent shop at one time "I dont really know for sure as I dont frequent liqour stores" but it most likely was and if so was due to the ownership taking pride or responsibility in his community and playing by the rules like everyone else has too unlike these "Hagi" that do not...

Yes words are truth are never as exciting or funny as your name "Pelon" is but it is the truth and sometimes the truth can make you "Yawn" sorry if it is not as entertaining or funny as the name given to you "Baldy" which earns the title of LMAOF....

The Sentinel Topix forum has degenerated into a pitiful tirade by the right wing noise machine in all of their glory. Every story is commented on by liberal bashers and/or racists, no matter what the topic. Many/most of them are not even from Santa Cruz.

Please leave us alone, stop spreading hate and get a hobby (other than this one).

Wow - This is a story about a liqour store right?- "Tired of liberals" seems a little angry - too much coffee - Try some booze or even some "medical mary jane" - or maybe just go back to yelling "get off my lawn you little bastards!" to the kids walking home from school. That helps the old guy who lives on the corner near me.

Typical liberal "If we dont like your lazy butts we are the Degenerates?" right.... And because we attest to your lazy butts its a "Noise Machine"???? "Most are not from santa cruz" Yes indeed I am and just because I am and have been my whole life gives me the insight to remember this town when it used to have good hard working people long before it was takin over by the University 4 year residents always looking to protest something and get a free ride.. So you are mistaken my friend about me not being a resident...

Just because I call out those foreigners that always seem to break the rules and then through out the "Race Card" does not make me the racist.. Funny thing is if you knew half of what these Foreigners say behind your back you would actually know who really was a racist..... Oh but thats right you dont speak their language and know what they are actually saying because if you did you would be singing a different tune...

this is the really scary part of the article:

"There are more than 100 alcohol vendors in the city, the majority of which are concentrated in the downtown area."

we have too many alcohol vendors in Santa Cruz ...

they mean more underage drinking, more gang fights and many more reckless DUI drivers wandering our streets.

This guy was busted and had his license suspended for the exact same thing within months of taking over Ernies in 1996. He was also busted for the same thing at his San Jose store and then busted again for selling liquor during the suspension.

The doctor says I'm livin'
on precious borrowed time
with all the time I'm givin'
to liquor beer and wine

the xrays of my liver
look like molded old swiss cheese
my heart pumps blood and alcohol
through hardened arteries

everybody knows me
down at the local bar
i drink until i can't see
and i wonder where you are

i guess i let my health go
since you quit bein' mine
but there's nothing to replace you
'cept liquor beer and wine

liquor beer and wine
is a flashing sign i see
every single morning i get up
it's a buzzing down at me

i look up to the heavens for
a ray of hope to shine
and there it is in neon
liquor beer and wine

ever since you left me
i've lived out of my car
parked between the liquor store
and uncle bubba's bar

booze helps ease the heartache
but you're constantly in mind
as constant as that buzzing noise
of uncle bubba's sign

liquor beer and wine
is a flashing sign i see
every dern morning i get up
it's a buzzing down at me

i look up to the heavens for
a ray of hope to shine
and there it is in neon
liquor beer and wine

So you see my point then about how this guy is just repeating and doing what he knows what to do and get away with it. Now he is just going to sell it to a family member or friend and "START ALL OVER AGAIN" This guy should have the abc shut him down forever period.. Selling during a suspension means he could care less about breaking the rules as he thinks they dont apply to him..

totally agree. this guy is shameless. it makes one wonder how strict the California Department of Alcohol and Beverage Control is. how does this guy get away with it? he should be shut down for good.

here is the link to ABC:

http://www.abc.ca.gov/

sounds like ABC needs some citizen complaint letters.

Does the ABC have any 'presence' in Santa Cruz? or are the police the agents that enforce the ABC regulations? I know of many complaints about this store that have been sent to the PD over the last 5 years.

Personally I will not shop there. The people that work behind the counter are not friendly - especially to women!

I see your point about THIS GUY. The rest of your generalist, xenophobic ranting is harder to comprehend.
