Looks like Santa La Hill has a monopoly. Take 'em to the house, Holiday World. The City would be silly not to do business with you!

If Holiday World wasn't so far away I might actually care about this story.
I agree Scott. I never go to Holiday World even tho I can get cheaper tickets than King's Island. The drive is longer and the quality isn't quite up to King's Island standards.

If only King's Island offered free drinks tho...whoa that would be heaven!

The point of the USDA program is to provide water to rural consumers at an affordable price by providing an alternative to the urban water companies. If the town get its way, then they'll have a monopoly

Why don't they just drill a well and provide their own water?
To do that properly would be cost prohibitive.

For many reasons, with the major one being, that well water would never have the volume for large scale use. In most cases, well water provides a sufficient family supply, and that is about it.

Also, looking at health and sanitation codes they seem to demand water from sound "public" sources that do frequent monitoring of bacteria, toxins, metals, and so on.

The bottom line- I do not see well water as being acceptable, under any circumstances, for the public at large.

Holiday World is the BEST family amusement park in the world and is trying to ensure its continued operation. I am confident this issue will be resolved quickly -- so this really isn't even newsworthy.

But while we're talking about Santa Claus, Ind.-- I must say that it's a great place to bring the family. Holiday World plus lots to do in the area including the Santa Claus museum, Frosty's Fun Center and Santa's Candy Castle (a real castle dating back to the 1930's). Be sure to stay at Santa's Lodge in town. Best family hotel in the area.

You lost me? You say you ever go to Holiday World, of which to me means you never went, and claim that King's Island is of better quality.

If I was to use a 5 star rating, I would give the 3 KI(s) I have been to only 2 to 3 stars, with HW a 4.5 star rating. I weigh the restrooms facilities probably more heavier than others, which I would not give any KI(s) a star at all there (nasty facilities), and 5 to HW. Of course the seasons I have been to HW I learned Pat Koch (The widow of the legendary owner, Bill) insists on being in charge of that detail.

Hey kids! Just to let you know, Santa Claus is not what he seems. Has it ever occurred to you that Santa is not real?

Disagree, Jack. There are many cities that use well water exclusively. Well water is generally safe, though monitoring is required for any public water source.

Also, I'd think that using surface water is far riskier than using well water due to contamination from fertilizers, herbicides, pesticides, etc.

Sorry but the towns people HATE Holiday world... traffic is horrible and no one counts on it for income. It is only open a few months so we aren't going broke w/o it. and Kochs are too selfish to close the park so not to worry!
Personally I have not met a Koch I liked, most really look down on us little people
