What's it like to live in Santa Claus- during the summer?

We visited Santa Claus, Indiana every summer while visiting relatives in Ferdinand Indiana. I grew up in Hammond so the rolling hills of Southern Indiana were such a magical place. Santa Claus Land/Holiday World beats out anything Disney has to offer. The town of Santa Claus is so pretty and the people are very friendly. If anyone gets a chance to visit go! Don't forget to visit all the fun attractions, Santas Candy Castle is a must see. While your visiting Santa you might also want to visit Lincoln's hometown. It's a three minute drive from Santa Claus. Lincoln lived in this area from the age of 7 until he moved at 21, there is a great National and State park in his honor.

Santa Claus is a nice enough little town and the rolling hills are peaceful enough for sure. The best thing about Santa Claus is Holiday World's roller coasters. The three wooden coasters they have are three of the best in the world! No joke. The Voyage kills anything wooden in the Midwest including The Beast at Kings Island. The water park is Top 10 as well and rivals the one in The Dells. Come on down!

To answer your question... Living in Santa Claus Indiana during the summer months is a bit of a hustle 'n bustle (so to speak). During the tourist season, our town gets $1.2 +/- Million visitors - BUT -The Santa Claus Police really keep it under control. They are out there (regardless of weather) directing traffic. And truth be told, the locals know ways to get around these areas :) and don't really mind it. The off-months are incredible too (but quieter).
