Peterson nor Ballard were there. Too bad, it's usually the mayor who helps light the tree. Lugar was there, though.

the goddamn cement tree that delights thousands of brain dead Hoosiers.
It's a 105 yr old Civil War Monument that used to be appreciated by hundreds of thousands back when Americans had brains. So, while I agree with you that it is an Xmas tree and it's sad that that's what our kids know, it's still cool and the envy of all those in other cities who come visit.

Well i for one enjoyed it, and so did my sons. Yes, it is a little cheesy not having a real tree,
but it is fun none the less.
And as far as the first poster..if you look to the right of the post, you will see the words, report abuse, well that person is what that button is for.
It wont turn on any lights, but it will get rid of the dim bulb.

I am not slandering the monument, just the fact that they use it as a tree.

stay in california. I lived there for so long and had to get away from the narrow minded and pompous people like yourself. How dare you even remark on OUR tradition.

Well they took all the negative comments away, but say what you want about our "tree", downtown Indy is a special place especially at Christmas time! I am currently staying in Kansas City, while it is a nice place, I miss my downtown and that special place.
