first of of all it is not the fuel you are thinking it is. It would be the same as going into you house and trying to set rubbing alcohol on fire. As a matter of fact isopropyl is a by product of the process. IT IS AN ETHANOL PLANT people!!! At the R & D facility it was right next door literally to an elementary school. Do some research people and quit thinking you know it all. Safety is THE first consern on the plant and if anyone thought for one second it was not safe do you really think it would be able to be built. Studies and what if senerios have been conducted over and over again. The people of Soperton are in no harm from this facility. If you would just open your minds to moving forward and not staying in the backwood society you have built around yourselves you might see that this facility will be an asset to you community in more ways than just jobs. Do the guys not come into your town for food and fuel and other needs throughout the week. you don't get on here and complain that they only got $40 dollare of gas instead of $50.

I agree that the safety of our kids comes first. There is nothing wrong with building a fuel plant. There is nothing wrong with building a new school. They just should not be that close together.
I heard from a very reliable source that land was offered for the school by another person on two different occasions with no response from BOE. Whynot wants us to believe he/she knows what he/she is talking about. Whynot can't even spell. Whynot, have you been to the meetings and library? Do you have children and do you love them? There might not ever be an explosion, but can you guarantee that? Why take that chance when we don't have to? |

The school needs to be near water/sewer as much as the businesses in an industrial park. Have ya'll price out the engineering, layout and installation of water and sewer lines lately?

The other land that was offered to the school is located in town, so actually water & sewage would not be a problem. |

ok logger... you are not from here are you? well i know alot of ppl who need a job and work there ass off. but cant get hired there. just because you seen a couple bad apples doesnt mean the whole tree is bad. i am NOT here to judge or put down anyone like you. every place in this world has some ppl that dont want to work or what not but that doesnt means that its everyone. i think if THIS RF company gave some ppl a chance they would see that there are some very qualified ppl that live right here that can work there. and iknow if this was you on the other end and we were in your town you would feel the exact same way so being judgmental is not something we should do!

I know that you all are just being concerned as to what is going on in your town. However I know the facility is safe for the community. I do have children and I love each and everyone of them very much. If you guys only knew that there are very very little risk's to your community and alot more benefits. Benefits to your community will not happen over night but they will happen, for the people and the community.

I have done some reaserch and the plant is explosive. Google (Ethanol plant EXPLOSIONS) and see how many have exploded this year. You can't compare this plant to rubbing alcohol.
We as a community should not allow our school board to put our children near this plant. Did you know this plant will store on site, over 5 millon gallons of Ethanol and Methanol? Not to mention placing the new school on the bussiest road in the county. |

Its all just a scam , get real people. They are scamming the govt. When the funds run out it will be over.Research see how many of these plants are up and running.Bio-Diesel included when all the govt.money runs out and investers wise up its over. Its just pitiful!

Dick no one knows this for sure. It's still not good judgement of the BOE to put our children in harms way.

I dont think anyone knows much of anything.I can more than promise you this will happen.I have worked in alternative fuels past 18 months this has happened to every plant but one.It is easy to build small scale, when you go bigger problems, prolems.I agree school needs to be in another location.Coastal Bio-Fuel in Savannah had explosion recently, small unit nice explosion though.Better get more peoples opinion than these know it alls in Treutlen. This plant will never run, like I said its all a scam.
