Did I just learn anything by reading this story? Oh, yeah, there are 22 tribes in NM. Yep, that sums it up. Wonder what this plan is for and what affect it will have. How does it differ from the state currently working with the tribes? Are the tribes going to actually start working with the state?

The tribes should become independent sovereign nations or they should join the rest of the country. No more special privileges. The same rules should apply to all Americans across the board. No one should be 'more equal' than anyone else.

As a Native American INDIAN it is hard to be treated as equal cause of people like you. It's hard not just as a Tribe but as one, try walking in our shoes then tell us how you feel. No one today gives anyone chances no matter what back ground you come from. There just so much hate in AMERICAN today. Stop putting down others.

They already are sovereign nations, that has to be removed and no more double standard laws for them. Their American Citizens like the rest of us and should have the same rules and laws. No more sovereign nations and stop paying them millions a year for what happened over a hundred years ago. That was how it was back then and we were not even born. ENOUGH of this we took from them, have they ever paid the families for all those they killed, raped and stolen from back then? History cannot be re-written and changed, it happened, get over it.

I have been here in NM, where are you? In SD? I am still waiting to see a cooperative effort down in NM, not in SD. I see a lot of things down here that should be cooperative and are not. I see a lot of take and take some more by the tribes, but I rarely see giving back to the state. You talk about lack of respect given to Indians and how hard it is. I see casinos and golf courses in the desert. I see education talk and no action. I see housing money with no improvement to the average Indian, but a lot of improvement to the cheifs and their immediate families. So really it is shame on you for thinking the worst of me just because of one simple post. You judged without knowledge.

And NOT all Pueblos have a Casino and Golf course. SO DON'T You judged without knowledge.

U as in ewe, or u the 21st letter in the alphabet, or is that actually YOU? I know that it is so hard to spell YOU. Oh, then I guess I don't see casinos and golf courses in the desert. It must all be a mirage in the sacred land.(Yes, that is sarcasm, if you did not know.) I never said all of the tribes have casinos. I said I see them! AND YES, I KNOW SD COULD BE IN NM. DUH! But do they want to be in NM or are they in their own country being supported by NM and the USA? That is the problem. I see a two views. The part that says they are a sovereign nation and then the part that wants to have the USA pay them money for being part of the USA. That is the part I don't like. I am tired of paying for the past. Were the Indians treated well by the fore fathers? No. Did my grandparents, or parents treat them bad? No. Have I personally treated them bad? No. So why am I still sending my tax dollars to the USA and NM governments who turns around and gives it to the tribes? Oh, and I am still waiting for an answer as to what the tribes have done for NM.(Not talking about WWI or WWII, but the actual state.)

We all walk in peace in the USA, be either Red, white, brown, black, or other, we need and should be intelligent enough to accept every race, color and creed into our family....
