Anyone with some common sense can see that he would be a great candidate for president. Look at everything he has done for NY.

Rudy's handling of New York's crisis during 9-11 more than offsets any so called social issues of difference between him and the voting populace. As President he could not dominate those issues without Congressional approval so in reality most of the criticism's of his positions are a waste of hot air. Rudy's managerial capabilities far outweigh any of his critics complaints.

He accomplished things in NYC which seemed to have eluded not only Koch and Dinkins, but all of his predecessors. He said arrest people peeing in the street and you will arrest muggers. He said arrest turnstile jumpers and you will arrest murderers. He was demonstrably right both times.

He was told he could never merge the three competing police departments and he did. Times Square went from a cesspool to a family friendly place to take your youngsters. He refused to be intimidated (or even allow the presence) of rable rousing racist liars.

He went after mob control of docks and fish markets and succesfully (as a prosecutor) took on the bosses and largely dismantled their chockehold on municipal businesses. These are facts, not opinions. He picked good people to work for him and let them (Bratton) do their jobs as long as they were going in his direction.

Even if one were inclined NOT to like him as a person, some of the current alternatives make me shudder and actively consider a life in the Bahamas.

Rudy likes to bring up 9/11, but how about a real investigation.

I'm still waiting for a believable explanation as to how a 47 story building, which was NOT hit by any planes! Which did not suffer massive damage from either of the Twin Towers and had only small to moderate fires. The exterior walls fell in, they ended up on top of the ruble. Taking a building down into its footprint is the objective of controlled demolition.
It does not happen by luck or accident.

What of the molten steel, and fires, reported in the foundations over 100 days after the collapses. Plus there is Silverstein's comments on the PBS documentary "America Rebuilds" where he states, "Maybe the smartest thing to do is pull it"

Why did Rudy allow all the evidence to be so quickly removed? Should we just exchange liars next election?

Listen on 9/11 Rudy did what he needed to do as Mayor of New York .During the long exhaustive healings and all the funerals he attended. Rudy backs President Bush and the ideas of war. Well I see Rudy sitting in the best seats of Yankee stadium with his wife and son and I see him starting a successful business but he has a son Andrew who is at the age age to serve in the military does his son have any intention to fighting in Irag for ideas. The police and firemen couldn't even have a system in place to communicate on 9/11. he was tough on crime and got national recognition as the Mayor of NY during 9/11 but what makes him qualified to run a corporation the size of America avoiding every issue presented to him. A national deficet, our borders, immigration , taxes, and most of all an exit strategy to protect our national treasure in Iraq our sons and daughters. It's obvious his kids are not going over there for his ideas.
