How can it cost this much for people in Vallejo if our average household income 30k? Oh, that's right nobody works, just collecting a wellfare check.

And don't forget about health care costs. My contribution has doubled in the last five years. I'm definately supportive of any kind of reform to lower health care costs.

Do you just make numbers up? The article in the Contra Costa Times paper places Solano County as the most affordable bayarea city (and it included graphs). You, VFD and IBEW, should keep that in mind while comparing your compensation to Palo Alto.

On the government dole, you think? You mean like the exorbitant salary you're paid, out of the taxpayers' money?

Hypocritical much?

Just pointing out the fact that the combined income in Vallejo has to be much higher than the 30k always mentioned. How else could anyone afford for housing and commute costs? Go to the web site and see for yourself. Maybe all those making 30k or lower live with parents to make ends meet.

You're the only person that has ever mentioned 30K as far as I can tell. The median FAMILY income is about 56K.

I live in an Atlanta suburb. My home is 7,000 sq. ft.; my lot is 1.5 acres: I paid $530,000 for it. I wouldn't live anywhere else. Don't get me wrong; I love California but the prices you guys pay is unbelievable. and Georgia is a great place to live if you can put up with the wingnuts.

Daily Horoscope for December 24

Aries

Christmas Eve finds you happy and eager to get the most out of the day. You're in a rather sentimental mood, so if you've got time you'll relish the chance to watch a favourite film, especially if it means you've got to get out the hankies. A friend's kindness or sensitivity will delight you - and make you wonder how you can reciprocate.
