It was suicide he shot himself five time in the back of the head with a derringer. When they asked his friend where Julio was. He responded in mexbonics, "dog gonne bro." Good riddance another gangbanger dead from lead poisoning.

What kind of monster kills child? And yes, 14 is still a child.

If it's an adult then immediate death penalty. If it's another child then 20yr in jail is enough time to reflect.

Why does this happen so often in America? What are we becoming?

There are many reasons. Lack of parenting, no fathers around, courts aren't tough enough on criminals of all ages, etc. I am sure most of you can add on to this very long list.

It all started with rap music. Before being a gangsta was glorified, these kids were riding skateboards, smoking pot, hanging out. A fight was handled with a few punches. Kids didn't claim a "hood." There are good parents who didn't see it coming who never thought a musical genre could effect an entire generation.

This is not a race issue, even white kids walk around with their pants below their butt, flashing gang signs (look at their myspace).

This is where it all started to go wrong.

When you were a young, impressionable kid what kind of music did you listen to and what kind of "clique" were you in? Jock, Prep, Stoner, Heavy Metal, Punk, Surfer??? Did you listen to a certain type of music that went along with your teen angst identity?

Blame it on the rap people!!!
LOL...can we blame it on Bush while we are at it?
Not hard to imagine that someone from Compton would find the other posters comments inaccurate! Where else do you see the gang life glorified??? Only in rap music. The rap community has done more damage to all of the communities combined than anyone would have thought possible back in the 80's! If you are a rational thinker at all, you will recognize that the rap industry glorifies these lifestyles in many ways. Maybe not all of them, but a large majority make money off selling this lifestyle to the teens of today.
And speakig of Compton, it was a terrific city back in the 50's, 60's and even into part of the 70's. Now what is it? Exactly.

I agree with your sentiment. Of all the groups you mentioned, even the punk kids managed to make something of themselves whe they matured. Too bad we don't see that today with the rap movement and gangster lifestylies of today!

Oh really? Rap caused this kid's death?

Did you ever think it was the absence of parental figures in the home? I am not talking about physically present but caring parents who get involved with their kids.

You are an idiot to blame rap. What next? Blame fatty foods for obesity? You like so many others today seek a scapegoat for what ails America.

You must have a soft brain and it's funny you talk about a "rational thinker". LOL. Yeah, rap is the root of all evil. And here all this time I thought it was real estate agents!

A gangbanger killed another gangbanger. Who cares how old he was, he was most likely going to end up in prison anyway. A few cents on a bullet saves thousands of taxpayer dollars down the road.

What a bunch of indignant swine on this message board just spouting off about Mexicans and gangbangers... if you don't like it then move out of Los Angeles! This isn't a '50s utopia anymore and will never be again, so pack your belongings and get the hell out of LA. Go be a hick out in the sticks somewhere where you can smoke your corn husk pipe and play the banjo.

You should be ashamed of yourselves and they way you speak. I'm white and you sure as hell don't speak for me or my race. Can't wait for all you racist pigs to die off with the rest of the dinosaurs. Pathetic.
