Someone should ask the councilmembers why they didn't put term limits for the mayor in 2008, instead of putting a proposal to extend their terms in office.
I suspect these self-serving councilmembers have ambitions to run for mayor and now want to change the rules.
Michele Martinez is the worst of the bunch. In 2008 she opposed extending the term limits for councilmembers but now supports the three terms for councilmembers. She also opposed having the untelevised council meetings held in the Police Community Room, buther pro-illegal alien Dream Act resolution was quietly passed in the council meeting in the Police community room! These councimembers are frauds and hypocrites.
Residents should demand a committee of residents be established to decide what kind of mayoral term
limit proposal will be placed on the ballot. The current councilmembers should not be deciding this issue.
