Does it really matter if John Kanzius makes money on this if people can be spared the agony of surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy?

I sincerely doubt his motivation is profit, but even if it is, who cares if the result is reducing or eliminating the suffering?

Praise God if this works. Wished it could have saved my 23 year old sister from breast cancer 9 years ago. I hope it works and people get to use it. I'd try anything if I were facing my own mortality due to this horrible disease.

I just wish the government or the powers that be would ok human testing. If some one is terminal (or volunteers to be a tester) and wants to try the treatment they should let them. What harm could it do? Sure would speed up the process.

What a wonderfull man and what a fantastic discovery! I hope the acceptable procedure is approved and john can live long enough to appreciate the blessings of his labor.
Now for the flip side. Being realistic, I feel that the design and applications for this product will be gobbled up by the medical field as cancer is one of their largest sources of income. Follow the $$$$ to see if this is not so.

Since investors are hard to find in this market, why not set up a grassroots non-profit and raise money for Kanzius through a TV TELETHON?

I agree. When someone is terminal, they should be allowed to decide if they want to take a chance on an experimental treatment. After all, the alternative is a known quantity.

If it was me, and I knew there were no other treatment possibilities, you can bet I'd be knocking the door down saying "pick me!"

I, too, hope that this invention works.
I am not, by any means, any kind of medical expert. It is important to note, however, that cancer cells are susceptible to a number of treatments -chemo, radiation for example. A cancer cell is immature, and can be killed off. The trick is to target the cancer cells and not healthy cells.
If we went back a century or so, we could see all sorts of electric devices that were sold as cancer or other disease cures.(I think a medical school in Philadelphia has a collection of those gadgets.)
So I wish Mr. Kanzius well, and I would not deny him profits, but I understand why the medical community has not completely jumped on board.
And I also recommend that potential donors to any charity go to charitynavigator.com to check out the charity and its fundraising costs as a percentage of donations received.

Of --Both Kanzius and Curley said the "60 Minutes" piece told their story accurately.--, note that, contrary to the statement on "60 Minutes," copper sulfate is NOT a metal. The thermocouple used to measure the temperature is a metal. The "hot dog" segment depicted on "60 Minutes" was scientifically
