Why quit? Why not answer the questions, prove people wrong. Why not give facts that prove that you didnt give preferential treatment. Give facts that prove that you didnt make special loans to your church members and fellow city employees.....So he quits instead of proving what should be so easy to prove....If he is so smart and honest, he should be able to shoot down the accusations of the "misinformed mob thugs" very quickly. But instead he quits....maybe just maybe he has no answers or rebuttals.........where I come from people are allowed to question their elders and leaders....Are Scot's people allowed to question him? I think not.

so you love lindsay...hmmm. What a crock. Must be the blind leading the blind here. The Council, Manager & Staff answered your questions about water rates and you refused to listen. This is america and here you are innocent until proven guilty. Your attack is what because you are not qualified to make a 6 figure income like your wife did until the well ran dry? Others in the area continue to make money in the real estate business. When are you going to answer to us, the taxpayers? Why are you home claiming you are injured, you are on tv marching? Where are you going to get the money to pay for all your records requests from the settlement you hope to get from the taxpayers? No one asked us if we thought you were worth your paycheck, you work for the state, you work for us! I hope they find a place for you with your buddies in prison when they prove you are cheating us. Don't drop the soap!

The City Council,City Manager and staff replied many times and have posted rates in our local newspaper. Some residents refuse to listen. Rates have not been raised since Feb. 2008. Residents are charged on how much water they use, and hello, bills will always be higher in the summer.Lindsay has no water, it must buy water and treat it before it can be delivered to the residents. The State & Federal Govt control what we the city must pay for this water and how much is available. and contrary to some, you can drink the water & you will not die. Most choose to buy it based on reports required by law, if nitrates go over a certain % the City must send out notice of that. It happens now and then but I have lived here over 50 years and drink tap water and cook with it...so do all of my family members. Contrary to consumer belief, there are no regulations on how bottled drinking water is filtered. You could begetting water that was collected from downstream!Lindsay's rates are not so out of line with other cities but if the water bill is too high cut back on something else or move to Exeter, Farmersville, Visalia where water is less but rent and housing is more. But be informed before you start making assumptions.Oh and our City Manager is out on medical leave following recent heart surgery. He resigned in deciding that his health and well being of his family were more important. He took a paycut to be our City Manager and we will all soon see that Lindsay needs him more than he needs to work for Lindsay.

If water rates were the only issue brought up in this mess I don't believe we'd still be having all the talk that has been going on. Yes,there were answers given on the water rates, and while disappointing, they explained a lot. Granted, I also believe that other options probably do exist and should be explored in an effort to cut costs ,in that area and more, but for now it's what we have. Unfortunately, there are still other issues which have been avoided and I think some of them are quite valid.
I applaud those who are working for accountability, and even if some of the issues end up being unfounded, or cannot be changed, it is never a bad thing to hold our leaders accountable.

I think you must have hit your head or either you are in on the scandal...before moving to Lindsay to live with my husband I lived in a bigger city in which the water was still much less then what the water cost was in Lindsay. In December 2006 my brother passed away and we stayed a whole month at my mothers grieving over the loss of my brother when we received our December water bill It was 79 dollars and change, the funny thing is that we did not even stay at our house the whole month, we were told oh "that is just the flat rate even if you don't use the water, how ridiculous!!! Can you imagine what are water bill is when we do use the water. My water bill is on average 120-98 dollars a month it is one of my most expensive utility bills. And as far as the drinking of the water, you are full of it because since I have lived here I have had my gallbladder removed because of stones, I have chronic abdominal problems and a lot of people that I now know from Lindsay have had their gallbladders removed because of stones or have some type of abdominal problem or esophageal problems like acid re flux, IBS, Kidney stones or has had to have kidney transplants, cancer. my husbands parents both passes away (cancer). I would and do not allow my children to even drink the water and at school they are even advised by their teachers to bring in drinking water and not to drink from the fountains at school so what does that tell you...What Lindsay needs is someone that knows finance and can bring in new and innovative ways to bring Lindsay back to life. We need to add more stores for shopping and expand our town so that way our town will become prosperous. Just saying...
