Robert is correct I was also at the scene and the news reported it incorrectly. I was in shock seeing the body and I am glad to hear that they caught the hit and run driver. A dog was also on the motorcycle and is currently at a local vet getting treatment. My heart goes out to the family.

I drove past the accident at around 4 PM and his body was still there under the plastic. I will never forget seeing that. I had to explain to my 2 young children what happened. I hope the wife and dog are ok. I don't get how a person can drive away from an accident. It happens all the time here in Florida. Have people become that heartless? Can you go home and sleep at night knowing that you hurt someone? I am glad that the person who did this was caught. My heart goes out to the Woodall family.

Let us all pray that Ken Woodall"s soul rests in peace.
Hope we all drive carefully everyday, and pay attention to people around us.

Robert,
Ken Woodall has not only a large family, but a huge extended family. On behalf of his family, thank you for thinking of him.
Recently his ashes were spread in the St Johns near Blue Springs, and, his wife was able to attend the small service, as her injuries are healing nicely. Jake, the dog is living with her, and is just fine.
Thanks again for caring!

I am so happy to hear that she and the dog are doing well. I was unfortunately driving directly behind the bike when they were hit. I slammed on my brakes and phoned 911 and stayed with the dispatcher until medics arrived, I wish I could have done more. I could not believe the guy took off. My understanding is that he freaked and sped off, he was caught shortly after. I prayed through the whole thing and sat aside the dog and rubbed his belly to comfort him, I am so happy that he made it...that is amazing! My heart, prayers and thoughts still go out to the woman and her family for their loss...I know I didn't sleep for days...grieving for her. I trust she has become stronger and believe and hope the best for her. For whatever the reason, God put me there...I hope in some way it helped.
