I have only read about him and saw some really low quality film.

What is obvious, was that he moved in for the kill as soon as the bell for the first round rang.

Mike Tyson also was very successful with this technique when he was coming up.

Best fighter I have ever seen...Marvelous Marvin Hagler, hands down.

I saw him fight in person several times in the eighties, and I have film up the you know what of him.

Nobody, and I mean nobody could throw a straight right hand inside like Hagler.

He almost knocked off Hearns Jerry Curls with that punch, and Hearns was no shrinking violet either.

Must have been great to be around when guys like Dempsey were going at it...the fight was over when one guy could not continue.

The Sweet Science.

How sweet it is!!!!!!

I was OK fighter as long as I was in the ring with the other Irish Kids from the neighborhood, back in the stone age.

My problem came when my coach would take me to N. Philly to fight the Black Kids.

Those Kids were so fast, they would knock my a-- out and I would not even know it.

End of boxing career

Justwant to mention that my uncle, Joey Burman, and Jack were friends. I saw a few pictures of them together when I was very young, and I used to hear my uncle talk about their friendship. They both fought in the 1920's. Uncle Joe was popular in Chicago, a bantam weight so of course they never fought each other and he was the boxer that was "champion for a day" as was noted in the newspapers. Isn't that interesting?
