If your PC is not more than 5 years old, many nonprofits will want it (Habitat for humanity needs PC's in homes). Choose your favorite nonprofit and see if they will want it (wipe out your hard drive first). If it is old, there are places to take your PC that dispose of it properly. Please give me a jingle if you have more questions. My website below is on a mission to build awareness about this issue nationwide.

Make sure that you perform a "secure-erase" on the hard drive or utilize a certified, reputable recycler in your area. Simply deleting files or reformatting the hard drive doesn't permanently remove the files. Remnants of the data remain on the drives making the data accessible to identity thieves using readily available recovery software.
