I am sorry to hear of anyone having to battle drug's or alcohal and I pray for the men and women of law enforcement that they may realize the cost it has on Honor,Blood and purity that is represented on they're shield. May God bless you all who need it.

ha ha give me back my money that i have to pay the state of "UTAH" for my fine of DUI wit my own alcohol problems to pay for all the f-n classes i have to take...then maybe i might think about those officers that did their job to put me in jail..n courts etc.

For me to pay on their own recreational problems... bull s*it I would have pay out of my pocket if it were me...They should know the difference...Thats what they deal wit everyday.

Just my opinion

These people have to be judged on a case by case basis and I believe burbank is right for once: they see and endure things the public knows nothing about which are very difficult psychologically. Thank you to those who are diligent in protecting us, the public. Your work is appreciated. May God bless you.

Having been married to a police officer, I can vouch for the problems this article says they face. The real problem is that no one prepared them for it. There is an excellent book that should be issued with every badge (some Post certification places do).

"Emotional Survival for Law Enforcement" by By Kevin M. Gilmartin

If you are or know someone in law enforcement, they need this book. After being married to a copy for 2 years, I found this book and as I read it thought someone had been sitting in my living room watching my life. What they face is real, if they are prepared for how to handle it, they can do fine, if not, it will destroy them.

These officers are sworn to uphold the law, not break it. Unfortunately they think they are above it. There are a lot of dirty cops out on the road and the departments do a great job covering up for them to save face for their department. By the time it gets to POST and lose their certification it's not their first offense.
