I worked closely with Dyson and Champagne for a couple of years in Dahlonega and never in a million years would I think that they would be involved in something like this. It is out of character for both of them. I dont know the full story, just what I have read andI still have a problem believing it. I hope their families have plenty of support right now from friends still there. Jamie, Keep your head up and my wife and I will be praying for you.

I spent time (5yrs) in 1st Batt and time at RTB. Big difference!!! In regiment you train hard to ensure everyone comes home, in RTB you literally hold a soldier's career in the palm of your hand. Give him a GO and he fast tracks, give him a NO GO and not only do you keep him from his family, unit, friends, soldiers, life, etc. but put his career in jeopardy. Big difference but both jobs are critical to the Ranger community. I would not stand idol if a threat was made against my family, I would be in court for hurting the SOB that made the threats, not some drug deal stuff that I didn't want to be part of. Does this make sense to any of you? I still say wait it out, as hard as it is on us all, and hopefully the truth will come out and justice will prevail...

You sure have a lot of talk yourself. Excuse me if I'M wrong but wasn't there a bank robbery by some from Regiment? Oh and let's not for get the whole Tilman cover up. In your words...."hardly the resemblence of an Airborne Ranger". Funny how it's easy for those who live in glass houses to throw the rocks eh? |

I'm sorry exdoc, but I don't think you know Dyson as well as you think you do. I am not saying this to be mean but there are things that Dyson has done and been apart of in the past 4 years that have been illegal. He may not have been caught with anything up until now but there are many who have been close with him who know differently. |

the entire time I worked with him he did nothing illegal. I later heard that he had gotten in trouble over some scrap metal close to a year after I left but up until then he had done nothing and that hasn't been more than four years. I don't know what you think you know but while I was stationed with him he was clean. everyone on that camp use to call him for a workout plan in the gym everyday and are now turning their backs on him. there were guys up there that I would believe would do something like this but as I said, when I worked with him and worked out with him on a daily basis, I would have never thought he would do anything as such. I don't know what happened to him in the 3 years i have been gone, but I still find it hard to believe. I guess when it is over we will know more, but until then I will not pass judgement.

None of us but the families and the soldier's involved actually know what happened. I'm not passing judgement on any of them. What I DO know about Dyson is common knowledge among many up at the 5th. There are a lot of people up there who are not surprised that he had something to do with this. Personally, I think that if he had not asked those men to help him out, this probably wouldn't have happened. Those guys trusted him. I'm happy that my husband stopped doing private security for Dyson a long time ago. |

As the mother-in-law of one of these young men (Champagne) I ask for your prayers for them and their families. As the Bible says, "You without sin cast the first stone". I think we all have made bad choices sometime or another in our lives. That does not make us "bad" people. It is easy to sit back and judge these young men when you only know what you read or hear on the news. There are facts that may never be made public but those who know my son-in-law know what kind of man he is. That is what is important to us. My husband and I love him and will be here for him in anyway we can.
Exdoc...Thank you for your kind words to my daughter. We are very fortunate to have wonderful friends, family and church families who are very supportive and loving (not judgemental as some of those posting comments here are). Hopefully more of the Rangers that worked with my son-in-law will show their support for the families. There are several young men that have offered their support to my daughter. We so appreciate the Rangers and their families and all the other people who are standing behind these men. May God bless you and your families. |

Dyson had many people fooled because of his gregarious nature. It was really hard not to like him. However, he is a very cunning person. He knew exactly what he was doing from day one. He deliberately sought to bring other soldiers into harms way, including his good friend, Champagne. I warned Andre that Dyson would lead him into trouble, and I wish he had listened. I told the Chain of Command what Dyson was doing and they blew me off. They could have done something before this happened. Now they have cut all ties and made these gentlemen look like "bad seeds." I pray for all the families. You won't find justice in Georgia or at CFM.

I'm not going to type a 3 paragraph novel on what I think, or believe, or heard happened. Truth is, noone but those men were there that day/night, and you can only speculate so much. Wheather they were right, or wrong, they are still Rangers, and nothing can take that away from any of them. Ever. So just as you would expect from anyone else, if you were in their shoes, they should be supported until proven above and beyond a reasonable doubt guilty. Even then, this justice system is definatly not perfect. Hang in there guys. No matter the outcome, stay strong, and you will make it through this.

Hey 2-75 did you just have 4 dudes from 2-75 Rob a Bank. Or did you just get their and dont remember. You also sound like you’re a young one and I hate to tell you but more then 70% of the RI’s are old Batt Boys. I spent 8 1/2 years in 3rd batt and 4 years in 6th RTB. Trust me I know were your coming from because i thought the same thing as you did. Watch what you say because that RI might be your Platoon Sergeant or First Sergeant one Day. |

2-75, just left there big mouth. support your brother RANGERS, these guys made you and thats the only reason your still in regiment; as far as the famlies involved in this I Wish the best for you and them.
