Why is it that if you work for the public you are always resopnsible for them. It is not that pubic servants take public service lightly, but why is it the public servant is just that? Do we not have down time? Why do we have to be accountable for those who do not take responsibility for themselves. Is it a crime to try and be nice to someone? It is no wonder that so many people are synical and do not give others the time of day. I was not there that night to judge the actions of Mr. Cook; I do not know what transpired that evening, however I do know his family and that they have suffered greatly. I am truly heartbroken for all of the family that have endured this tragedy! My God bless and heal you all!!!!

Last time I checked people should be responsible for their own actions. These kids were drinking heavily, got into their Mitsubishi 3000GT sportscar and proceeded to hop on route 8 and hit speeds in excess of 100MPH. These kids paid the consequences of their OWN actions simple as that. Leave OFF DUTY police officers out of it. When you leave work you LEAVE WORK.

The truth...You don't know the truth !!If aq cop is off duty when He punches out, than why do cops carry thier badges & pistal when not on the clock??? Yes I know, it will get a cop a free pass if pulled over for speeding...But really, If a cop is standing in line at a Dunk'n DoDo's getting a coffee and some nut job goes to rob the place, You can bet You ass He's NOT going to just stand there !!!
