While dorney has gone thru alot of changes that I am not very happy about (removal of alot of things that WERE Dorney, Journey to the Center of the Earth, the Tunnel, Bumber cars, Iceburg) they are a very clean and well ran operation.
Just travel over to the filthy and half closed Great Adventure and you can see what buyouts do. When Warner Bros sold it, it went down faster than the drop on dominator. I'll take my family to Hershey, Knoebels, or Dorney anyday!

I am unhappy they they replaced the Session Pass parking lot with the 2nd wave pool, last year.

I use to be able to run over to Dorney for, like, just an hour. I would just go in the Hamilton "bus" entrance, park, and walk right in.

Now, I have to go in the Lincoln Ave entrance, wait in line, park out in the boonies, and walk, walk, walk. That alone can use up 20-30 minutes of my "quick" 60 minutes stop-in.

Yes but that inner city trash as you call them brings in a ton of money for the local businesses around Dorney. I work at a store close to Dorney and our sales increase a large amount over the summer months due to the attendance at Dorney.

Since Cedar Fair bought it from Harris Weinstein in 1992 they did alot of improvements although they removed several of the classic rides due to age or other problems. And yes, the inner city NJ/ New York blacks that come on busses suck. It used to be a nice local park under private ownership that mostly PA Germans/local LV people went to. Now Cedar Fair is reaching out to new markets and everyone comes from all over and it gets too busy in July and August. WWK is a sea of humans. I like HalloWeekends with the haunted houses especially that DP removed all the old scary dark rides years ago. Former owner Bob Ott who ran the park until May 1985, after 39 years of working there passed March 4, 2007 at age 88. His wife Sally Plarr passed Feb. 14. They lived at Luther Crest the past few years. He and Wally Ely wrote the Dorney Park book which they both signed for me. I've been going to DP since I was 2 in 1976.

Get ready for VOODOO and the HAUNT at Dorney Park this year! To Mary and Robert, racial discrimination will not be tolerated at Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom. Please do not make negative comments about African-Americans that live in NJ and NY that come to Dorney Park. Thank you, Dorney Park.

Is the clientele really that bad at Dorney Park?

In July and August, yes. People littering, obnoxious ahem, out-of-the-area afro people, the wave pools are a health hazard with the little kids spitting in them, too crowded, Try to go on a weekday in June, or perhaps a weekday in July and August, but the park is basically jammed everyday since kids have off from school, the water park is worse during the day when it's 90 degrees with no rain. The clientele might have gone to the dogs, but for us native Allentonians, it's still our local park and the only one around for miles. I have been going to DP since 1976 at 2 years old, when Bob Ott owned it. He passed away a year ago. The HAUNT is expanded this year with a new haunted house and new stuff. It's going to be much scarier this time. Looking forward to that. I remember most of Dorney's old scary haunted rides years ago that burned or were removed.
