Richardson fiddles while New Mexico burns. The State Government is too big already. Since beginning of his tenure as governor, NM State budget up almost 50%, while population increase of under 10%. Unacceptable.

Richardson is taking the quick cowardly way out of the situation by using the State's reserves. He figures I will be in jail or out of here soon so the next Governor can figure out what to do in the future fiscal years. We are in this bind because of his spending on pet projects and his hiring at large salaries of all his crooked friends. What can we say, he is nothing but a crooked coward. Voting for him was a bad mistake.

FOR YOUR INFORMATION... Those of us WHO DO OUR JOBS, and DO THEM WELL, are under a wage freeze for the next two years if not longer, AND have to PAY more for our benefits.

I had enough money left to eat out once last month. Just raise taxes, I really don't need that little bit of self indulgence.

All of the "tax-breaks" and spending on exempts, PIO's and other non-essential govt. employees has caught-up with Richardson and the taxpayers are left holding the bag! His grandstanding and wasteful spending has hit rock-bottom! Richardson has been nothing but a liability who used us in his failed quest for the presidency! Fortunately, NM is in better financial shape than alot of other states. The Legislature needs to look beyond this last year of the "Richardson Legacy" and do what is right for New Mexico. There is not much hope either with a Diane Denish administration! Gimmie a Milk!

Yes, NM is fortunate with healthy cash reserves-and what sacrifices does Governor Richardson have in mind? 1. Take a look at the waste in state government such as the pork that was created and continue to grow. If that is eliminated I know that is a challenge.

...Bill is a flunking azzhole!!! If bills are introduced to eliminate double dipping, he will probably never sign them. If eliminating some of the exempt positions is recommended, it will never happen. The entire special session will be a waste. We need someone like Wilson Berfort, or whatever her name is, to run for governor.

see what Denish does. If anything. Or will she say quiet on the sidelines as usual. Let's see if she's listened to all of us New Mexican's whether state employees or not. We all New MExican's know the amount of waste with the double dippers and the Gov-Ex employees. We all know there should be ZERO budget cuts unless and until dollar bill cut 2/3rds of the Gov-ex employees and signs a bill saying the current double dippers either forfeight their retirement until they REALLY retire AND the double dippers MUST contribute to PERA. Then, and only then will we New MExican's sacrifice our measley 25-45K yearly salary.

Oh believe me... I am quite aware of how many state employees take advantage. I however choose not to be like them. I merely stated I earn every red cent by doing my job correctly and efficiently and no matter how well i do it... I will still not get a raise for a while...and they are taking out MORE for benefits.

Why dont they do this on the Monday of Labor Day weekend? That way they dont get paid for something they should have done right in the first place.Let them use their own time instead of wasting ours!

The majority of state workers are dedicated to being efficient and dedicated. The blame lies with Gov Bill and his administration for allowing double dippers to take advantage of tax payers dollars. The VAST majority of the RTW employees are recieving outrageous salaries while collecting their retirement pay. They have had negative impact on employee morale because many career ladders have been clogged by these greed driven double dippers.

Another point to consider is the number of exempt positions that Gov Bill has implemented during his reign over New Mexico. While it common practice for a governor to create exempt positions, Gov Bill has increased exempt positions by over 300%. The salaries are outrageous and an insult to every hard working state employee.

For example, how can the Governor's budget include salaries for 2 personal chefs at over $90K each? Who can eat that much food?? It is also no secret that Billy has also placed some of his female "friends" into some very high paying exempt positions across state government.

Also remember that the leaders in our legislature are also accountable for the current state of our budget. Where is Lucky Varela and Ben Lujan?

state workers you see at the malls and at restauranst, barbershops are no doubt management. it's upper management that do these illegal things during work hours and drive the state vehicle as if it's their own private vehicle.
