What in the world can we do to stop all these teen pregnancies in the Gap? Do those girls know what they are in for? There is no turning back now. what are the parents teaching children? Do they not know about birth control if they are going to be having sexual intercourse? What happened to Christianity and high standards?

Wow...Someone actually managed to link teenage pregnancy to homosexuality..That is amazing..CRAZY...but amazing..I applaud you on your insanity sir. That said lets see if I can actually give an honest answer..IT IS THE SCHOOL SYSTEM'S FAULT...seriously, if teenage pregnancy is high that means that they arent learning about safe sex..More likely they're being taught about abstinence. Now while, yes abstinence would prevent any chance for pregnancy lets face the facts..Not everyone is capable of being abstinant. When I was growing up I certainly wasnt. So it is MORE EFFECTIVE in a general sense to provide education about how to saftly have sex that prevents pregnancy. Now maybe some of you think thats not the school's place..well then its your job as a parent to be the one who educates your kids about it. You can't honestly expect to follow your teenagers around everywhere and ignorant people make more mistakes than educated ones.

PS - Children are a blessing from God not a 'curse' to be visited on those who 'stray from God's way'.

Maybe if parents did more talking about the prevention of pregnacy. Im not talking about threatning. Kids will have sex if they want to no matter what you say/do. But what ever happened to encouraging our children to wait till marriage or the pill or condoms. Geez they're free at the Health Department. Go to the restroom there you can find an entire bag full.
What kids dont realize is that outside of cute lil bellies and hairbows are real responsibilites that dont go away in 9 months. They last a life time. Kids are a blessing from the Lord when you are ready for them, but being a teenager I cant see that as ready. Most of them dont even wake themselves up in the morning!
