Full story: The Indianapolis Star

State Sen. Patricia Miller started this legislative session with hopes of killing any perception that legislators are using their public jobs to win more lucrative positions as lobbyists.

How disappointing. This was an opportunity to take the high road and say, "let's demonstrate to our constituents this is a concern of ours too." I guess that's just too much to ask.

Meanwhile, the voters look for the next legislator to abandon ship. Uh, no, excuse me..........I meant to say we'll look for the next legislator to make "a natural progression."

It doesn't surprise me in the least. What ever it takes to line their own pockets they are going to do it. Just like the property tax deal. They could care less about us. It's how they can get around from changing things is their main interest. They don't like to be told to spend less money. Well they need to get it in their thick sculls that it's the taxpayers money they are spending and not their own. If this bunch want to act like a bunch of cry babies and through fits because someone is going to put a limit to their S*** then so be it. But don't come crying to us when we put your dead a**** out on the street come Nov. At this point we don't give a damn what you crooks think. You are going to start doing things our way or we will put people in office to replace you idiots that will work for the people. Just remember who's vote you are going to want in Nov. So this is a warning to you in congress. We are watching you and if we see you don't want to work for us then we will make it easier for you to work somewhere else when we vote you out of office.

Par for the course-throw all those Republican bums out the door who blocked this.

While many subcribe to Republican values-all any voter can do at next election is vote against incubent.

Once again-Indiana taxpayers lose. Few elected officials understand they just sold us out.

Yet another example of blatant abuse by our elected officials. They refused to even vote on the bill. They couldn't at least let it go to vote. This is a blantant display of power abuse. "If we don't like what you're saying, we'll make sure no one else hears it."

Killing this Bill is re-enforcing to the public and the voters the very sentiment that the lawmakers were supposedly trying to eliminate. One can only wonder how much a lawmaker's reputation sells for these days? The one true solution to the problem, ban all lobbying, period.

This is proof that there may be a lot of hanky-panky going on! Why else were they so "offended"? I say - DO NOT ALLOW THE LOBBISTS INSIDE THE STATE HOUSE DURING SESSION PERIODS! And if they get much as a Kleenex from a lobbist they MUST report it! Maybe then our elected officials might figure out who they were elected to represent.

The fact that this bill struck such a nerve should serve of evidence of its need. If there was no hanky panky going on, it would have been no big deal.

Why do our laws even have a provision for "registered lobbyists"? All these folks do is cost the taxpayers millions of dollars to line their own pockets. Get rid of them entirely!

"The testimony was so nasty and mean and personal that the committee members were furious," she said. "It was a very unpleasant confrontation. That's not how you get legislation passed around here."

Yeah, by gosh. If you want legislation passed, you'd better come and grease our palms and kiss our ***! This telling the truth of how the public, which elected us, feels just isn't going to get it done!

Excuse me. The Democrats are just as bad.

Politicians are all crooks. They would not be where they are if they were not. It's just the way the system works.

All people do is vote in the party they voted out the last time. It's no wonder nothing changes.

Sunday's idle thoughts: sure they are not going to vote for something like this since they are all feeling the heat over property taxes and are not sure they will be able to get re-elected - both Elephants and Jack***. They want to make sure they don't lose their homes since they could be out of work for 2 years and their value to their lobby employers decreases sharply.

Just the Joker's thoughts

Indiana, by far, has America's WORST state legislature. This pathethic group of fat, toupeed losers has been taking money under the table for generations. Oh! how offended they are when some poor member of the public, having been screwed over by these grossly incompetent potliticians in the pay of Indiana's polluting industrialists for years, has the moral courage to point out that they've all been on the take since other dinosaurs ruled the earth. Left, right, and center, let these pathetically corrupt, petty men and women know that we've long understood how they raise their funds: graft while in office, cushy salaries as lobbyists when their done serving themselves first at their State House. Vote them all out of office. Term limits NOW! in Flatsville.

There's a very simple solution as a beginning; in November vote out every incumbent. Indiana deserves better than this lot, including the dynasty of Vi.

Voters of Indiana WAKE UP !!!!!! The fact that these fools were offended PROVES this subject hit the nerve of guilt. I hope all voters remember this in November and vote them OUT!!!!!!!!!!
