I think she sets a very good example for the rest of us. Very unselfish little girl - your parents should be very proud of you.

Its awesome. I donated a foot of my hair last weekend. I didn't think you could if you had dyed your hair but my salon said you can donate any hair now.

What a selfless thing to do. This is a great story and good to see their are kids that care for more than just themselves. She is a special little girl and I bet her parents are extremely proud. I would be! Good going dad too!!

My 23 year old son cut his hair a few months ago and also donated it to Locks of Love. Almost three years ago, my mother lost her mother and younger sister a month apart to cancer. He donated the hair in their memory.

I'm glad Locks of Love is getting some publicity. About 6 years ago I cut about 15" off of my hair and I knew Locks of Love existed but I couldn't find any information on how to donate.
If I ever cut that much off again I'll definitely donate.

While I find this donation to be great, there are NUMEROUS others that donate hair to Locks of Love. I have donated 12-16 inch ponytails on 3 occassions. Maybe your news story could have included some of the other folks. What made this one donation so special?????

It was public and she is a child. My grandkids have donated many times. It is good to hear good news about a child for a change!

My sister and her friends do this on a regular basis. I'm going to do it with some other Moms from our church. My daughter will be participating as well. It is a very very good cause. Very glad the cause is getting some publicity.

I think this is wonderful that there are children out there being raised to think of someone other themselves. Too bad Asti was not raised this way as well.

We appreciate you donating but this is a child that donated her hair - not an adult. I lost 3 people to cancer as I am sure most people posting and ANYTHING someone does to help cancer patients is awesome. Why do people have to find negative in everything?
